Flying from Texas to Colorado took some time, particularly when you're flying by your own wings. Fortunately, Sophie and Roland had all their luggage sent ahead of them so that they wouldn't be weighed down. And while they did cover a lot of miles with their wings, they still need to stop and take rests with them. So overall, it was a lot more fuel-efficient to travel this way.
Eventually, they arrived in Colorado and made their way towards Elk Springs which was right next to the Mesozoic Enclave. Taking one look at it, Sophie and Roland could see that this new Dinotopian colony was modeled much after Dinosaur City, with the same 'stone age' design. What stood out most for them was that there wasn't a tower like Skybax Heights, at least not yet. The top part of the tower was still under construction, the modern construction equipment standing out in the rest of this neolithic setting. Apparently more construction effort was put into the large building in the back, the one with a large sign saying 'Sandstone Casino and Hotel'.
"Looks like the plans to adding a casino to this city pushed through," said Roland.
"Which probably means there's also a nightclub," said Sophie.
"Hard to spot it from up here," said Roland.
"I'm sure it'll be more obvious at night," said Sophie, "Let's head to the hotel."
==========
"Hey, everybody, this is Sophie and Roland broadcasting live from Mesozoic Enclave in Colorado," said Sophie as they started their Animalia Ambassadoria coverage. Both of them were wearing 'animal skin' clothes.
"And right now, we're inside the Sandstone Casino and Hotel," said Roland. The camera spun around to reveal a casino with bright flashing lights and the stony motif one that could have come straight out of the Flintstones. "As you can see, gambling laws aren't as stringent in Colorado as they are in Texas. Though the local authorities are making sure this casino is run honestly. Well, as honest as a casino can be."
"Though it's not just a casino," said Sophie, "It's also a luxury hotel with rooms humans, Animalians of average size, and Dinotopians. And that includes large Animalians too."
Then the camera pulled out to show Janine Griffin. Like Sophie and Roland, she was also wearing 'animal skin' clothes. "Just to make myself clear," said the giraffe Animalian, "I'm not living at the hotel. Me and Stretch have our own apartment."
"So, Janine, why did you and Stretch move out here?" asked Roland.
"Well, quite simply, it's hard to find proper accommodations to live in when you're 10 feet tall," said Janine, "Mesozoic Enclave was built with tall Animalian in mind, though I think they meant sauropods. But anyways, I really want to be able to take the next step in my relationship with Stretch and I think moving into our own place is going to be important for that."
"I'm sure it will," said Sophie.
==========
"And, for what's certainly going to be a big attraction for Mesozoic Enclave, we have the newest nightclub, Club Claw," said Roland. They stood outside a building that featured a large neon sign with a sexy raptor woman lifting and lowering her leg, her sickle claw moving in a hypnotic way.
"You think that sign is a bit much?" asked Sophie.
"Compared to other signs, probably not," said Roland, "At least it's structurally sound."
"Trust me, the last thing anyone wants is that sign falling over," said Ms. Fabina, also wearing 'animal skins'.
"So you're going to be running this place too?" asked Roland.
"Hardly," said Ms. Fabina, "I can only manage so many places at once. I'm mostly here to help get things set up. But I am leaving this place in good hands."
"And idea of what to expect?" asked Sophie.
"There were quite a few Dinotopians who were wanting to have fun at this kind of club," said Ms. Fabina, "Though I would expect Tyra to perform. She's got her hatchlings and she has to set a better example for them. But you'll be seeing more Dinotopians as they move here."
"Or we get some more conversions," said Sophie. She noticed her parents had been showing some interest in the Dinotopians after they've been to Dino City. They've also been dropping hints that they were considering conversion. She just hoped they don't do anything embarrassing.
"And we'd certainly like to show you viewers opening night here, but this is definitely not going to be appropriate for public viewing," said Roland, eliciting much complaints online. "Still, we'll be doing more interviews as new residents start moving in. Until then, we'll see you in the wilds of Dinotopia."
