The shop is something else. I thought that I had seen every kind of antique there was to find but yet here I found myself in a league that I had not so much as considered before. The store, Trudmac's Magical Antiquities, carried items that promised changes beyond anything I could imagine. The young woman tending the store wasn't the owner, but told me nonetheless that I had to tread carefully as I would only be allowed contact with a single object. That wasn't too bad, I thought, I would at least have the chance to observe everything before I made a decision and take a decent guess as to what the function was.
The shopkeep had gone off to do something else and I enjoyed being the sole customer in the store. Anything I laid my eyes on, for the moment at least, had no chance of being whisked away by someone with a keener eye or quicker judgement. I passed a section with articles of clothing in every size I could imagine and if I had to consider some magical attachment to them then I supposed donning the garments would transform the wearer into the ideal form for that article. It made some sense, just about every guy has at one point wondered what it would be like to live as a woman, but what made less sense was the children's clothing. Nothing said that the transformations were reversible, so why would someone give up their identity to live as a child? I couldn't grasp it.
Then I saw it, a glowing circle suspended in the air only by forces unseen. It seemed to command my attention and I knew then that it would be the one I wanted. I looked to the left toward the counter to see if the shopkeep was looking and decided I would test my luck with making contact with the circle. As my finger graze the surface it shot up with a force that blew a sharp wind through the room. I watched, seeing a kind of metallic shimmer appear in its middle. It floated over my head and stayed there for a minute before turning parallel to the ground by its own magical force. It jolted to float over my head in a one-frame teleporting motion I could not hope to react to in time and dove down to engulf me. Everything went black.
