Emily became conscious once again as her body lit up and her systems came online. She was overcome with emotion. The rush of excitement, the wonder at what she had just experienced, and the sheer joy from finally feeling what it was like to be a mechanical maiden made of metal. She would be crying tears of joy if she could, and her mechanical eyes produced a twinkling effect as if she were in an old Disney movie. She nearly fainted, but was brought back down to Earth by the woman saying, “Not so fast, baby girl. First we have to run a maintenance check on you to make sure everything is working properly.”
Emily assented, and as she tested her joints and functionality, she felt a sense of childlike giddiness as she moved around almost like a big clockwork doll. Her movement was strange, but fun: it was fluid and smooth enough to seem humanlike on a first glance and make her be able to do things like a human, but also slightly jerky and, well, mechanical.
“All right, everything’s functioning well. Welcome to your new life.”
[Author’s note: forgot to mention this but she can wear the helmet face and hair and take them off when she wants to.]
