Without any prior knowledge, Marina found it unsafe to try any of these products out. She started on a quick search for any type of products like these by any local companies, then by pharmaceutical companies, then by trial experiments posted online. She went on for about thirty minutes before palming her face and sighing, none of her searches were successful in even coming close to finding out about these items. The real odd thing was as she looked around her office, she noticed something off. Her once neat and clean desk now had unknown papers scattered everywhere, post-it notes that were past due, an overloaded trash can, and random clothing draped around her office furniture. She didn’t consider herself a slob, but she removed an old sweater to take a look at herself in the mirror. Her clothes were disheveled with her shirt unbuttoned and boobs hanging out, her hair was a mess, and her makeup was smeared. Quickly closing her blinds, Marina tried her best to rearrange herself, spray some perfume, and reapply her makeup, hiding her slovenly state. Once she was satisfied, she opened the blinds and left her office to stop by the water cooler for a break. Looking at the time, what she thought was thirty minutes ended up being three hours as it was close to lunchtime. She broke out in a sweat after realizing how much time had past. She couldn’t have been searching THAT long for more info in those products. After a good 5 minutes by the water cooler, she took the long way around back to her office, hoping the breeze and short walk would be enough to get her head on straight.
Coming back in, she realized just how far gone she was. There was a faint trash smell in the office, it was warm in there, and it looked like a lazy college kid was working there. She turned the thermostat down to 68, sprayed air freshener from the bathroom in her office, and dumped her trash. Looking around, she felt happy enough to sit in her office for a change. After catching her breath, she started getting some work done before her stomach stopped her, as if she hadn’t eaten anything all day (though the amount of food wrappers she just cleaned up said otherwise). Checking the time, she saw that it ten to noon, meaning she was about to break away for lunch. She grabbed her bag and walked out of her office, making sure to turn out the lights and lock her door. From here, she has a few options. She could go to her favorite restaurant and bring it back to her office. She could chat with her best friend and coworker, Kylie, and see where she is going for lunch. She could scavenge the office for snacks, making a meal out of office snacks and food to make a meal. While risky, she could raid the company fridge and see what has been left behind/discarded.
