David had stumbled in to the store, looking for a new motorcycle helmet. He figured it was a fool’s errand, but he’d tried every other store in town, and he was desperate to ride the motorcycle he’d gotten, a $400 Honda he’d been working on for weeks on and off, and he’d finally gotten it running.
To his shock and utter delight, a bright red motorcycle helmet was sitting on a shelf right in front of his face.
He quickly scooped it up and brought it to the counter. The slightly mysterious figure behind the counter added to David’s pure delight, and he got the helmet for only $5.
Scared that the man would change his mind, David quickly paid and left the store, walking back to his apartment. He walked inside and tried to figure out what he should do next.
