For the next 30 minutes, Kyle ran around with Amanda as a dog on a leash. This was a shapeshifting activity they periodically enjoyed. Amanda loved becoming a dog named Bella. Kyle loved running. Together, they would explore the neighborhood during Kyle’s workout.
As they neared the house, Kyle heard something metallic bouncing along the road. Bella immediately stopped running and let out a yelp at being choked by the leash. Kyle stopped running and noticed she was pulling back on the leash towards the metallic sound, “What’s wrong, girl?”
Bella led Kyle back about 15 feet and pointed her paw to the shapeshifting medallion. Kyle was shocked, “OMG! I thought you said you set it for 12 hours?”
Kyle picked the medallion up and looked at it. He groaned, “Amanda? You only set it for 10 hours!” Amanda let out a growl, realizing she messed up. She thought she had a few more hours of shapeshifting powers. Now, she was stuck in her current canine form until Kyle used it. The minimum time for shapeshifting powers was 5 hours. It would be the middle of the night before she could return to humans.
Kyle laughed as he placed the medallion in his pocket, “Looks like you are spending the night as Bella! Next time, make sure you keep track of time!”
Back home, Kyle looked through the kitchen cabinet. Finally, he found a can of dog food and smiled, “It’s you lucky day! There is 1 last can in here!”
Kyle opened the dog food and placed it in a bowl for Amanda. Amanda was tired from the walk and needed some energy. She was glad to get the nourishment.
Kyle knew that Amanda wouldn’t be able to use the shapeshifting medallion until somebody else used it first. He looked at the clock and saw it was almost 8 pm. He usually got up about 7 and left for work by 8. He set the shapeshifting medallion for 11 hours. That way, he could shapeshift and fall asleep. When his alarm went off at 7, he would have plenty of time left to shift back into his normal body for work. Kyle activated the shapeshifting medallion, and it disappeared. Kyle had a few hours before going to bed. He could have some fun with his shapeshifting ability.
