The next few steps were a lot quicker. Fortunately, he got to choose his own background, choosing for his 'character' to have grown up in a high elven spire as part of a noble family, figuring if he at least got a decent magical education he could play a spellcaster. He'd resolved to make the best of this; if he had to have a bimboesque body, it didn't mean he couldn't be a sorceress or something. As he chose it, shimmering white robes appeared over his body, covering up his nakedness as they flowed down to the floor. Elven tailoring had clearly given up and as such the gown had to be fairly open-fronted, flaunting Steve's deep elven cleavage.
Maybe out of some shame at the body they'd saddled him with, the game was letting him pick both of his background traits. It was still only picking two, but at least they weren't forcing a third upon him. He chose Sidhe Heritage, boosting up his Essence and unfortunately his already-high Appearance. As he did so, he could feel something shifting. Looking in the pool, he noticed his ears were even larger, his eyes even bluer. Huh, it seemed traits could still keep altering his appearance. Maybe something'd shrink these funbags? He took Noble Heritage for some education and hopefully some position of power in this world he was entering; and as soon as he did the world shifted. The glade opened out a little, the treeline trimmed back as Steve found himself in the royal gardens of a great white stone spire. His outfit remained the same, but he could tell the fabrics were of higher quality as rings of mithril and gold encircled his fingers, a small tiara adorning his head with three emeralds set into it. In his bones he knew he was the Duchess of Goldenflax, one of the cousins to the royal family who'd been given a small estate near the elven city of Lyriadale. Well, he'd certainly got a position; he was literal nobility now!
Before him as he sat in the garden on a marble bench, the scroll reappeared, text flowing onto it. CLASS. Well, well. Likely the final stage. Would he get to be the one to choose?
