You quickly ran to the laundry room, you realized you either had to hide or run. Hiding seemed good but would likely not work as your mother was good at spotting when something was out of place. Therefore you decided you would run. Skidding into the laundry room you glanced around and over to the window, between you and it was a mass of dirty laundry waiting to be washed, something you had neglected to do and your sister had not gotten to before the ruse was uncovered. There were also reels of fabric, waiting to be turned into clothing by your mother when she had the time.
You ignored what was in your way and began clambering over it to open the window. You turned the window locks and swung the window open before moving forwards to leap out. As you did however, something smooth under foot slipped and you whacked your jaw on the window frame. Glancing down at the thing that had shifted, you mentally cursed it before going to move again. However, you felt the familiar effect as the medallions magic took effect, taking your thoughts of the item as a wish to become it.
Also at that moment, the medallions time ran out, falling from you and rolling with a chinking sound as it hit the floor back out the room into the hallway. Unable to stop the change, you fell backwards, the item you were on being kicked from the sudden moment as you fell in its place and the original fell out of sight under the dark shadows behind the washer and dryer.
You lay there, confused and panicked, trying to change back without success, before hearing your mothers angry footsteps coming closer. She paused at the door, as she bent down to pick up the medallion, looking into the room and seeing the open window. She signed and frowned, assuming you had fled to escape punishment, as you had indeed planned. What she didn't spot was you, blending in as a replacement for the thing you had accidentally kicked out of sight. With an angry huff, she stormed out the room, slamming the door shut behind her.
