It didn’t take long for Jeff to figure out how to change himself into an admin. What he didn’t realise in the process was that by now all admins were AI and as such were considered not to be players. The player tag that previously prevented many effects on Jeff was now removed, with him none the wiser.
Additionally, with the reality changing still turned on, Jeff ceased to exist outside of the game thanks to the chronically, though he could still access it.
Jeff began flicking through the screens on editing his character page, and began to make minor changes to his appearance. He’d decided to play as a knight, and had having the body of one would make it even more fun.
Jeff looked down, his muscles feeling soothed and massaged with each change. Flexing his arms, they now showed muscles Jeff previously could never of dreamed of having. The changes continued, his six pack becoming pronounced and his legs firm. Even his clothes changed, stretching and darkening over him until he wore a full suit of plate armour with a sword at his hip.
Jeff then turned to his stats, ‘this’ll be so fun’.
Almost twenty minutes later Jeff couldn’t be asked to buff himself anymore. The edit page was designed for an AI, and as such required Jeff to make incredibly slow progress, adding to his stats incrementally.
Excited by the progress of magic, Jeff had at first buffed his intelligence, with his mind becoming sharper with each gain and soon he could feel magic tingling at his fingers.
His newfound genius prompted him to increase his level, but even after reaching level 1,000 he gained no new stats, just skill points which he used to invest in countless abilities as he went.
Strength, agility and vitality were next, but by the time he was done Jeff was contemplating just leaving the game in boredom. Even numerous skills were locked away behind action requirements, and Jeff couldn’t be asked to increase mind and charisma. His INT gave him the basics on the stats, MIN was used for psychic abilities (which Jeff had no interest in) and CHA was used to influence NPCs. And so Jeff decided to finally find some action.
One oversight of his however, was that MIN also had a secret effect for non-players (which Jeff now was). It affected their resistance to dangerous mental attacks and influences, which could bend even the strongest wills of powerful enough.
Jeff set out with a grin on his face unaware of the danger.
