Emiko thought and ultimately decided it would be easier if her friend was a bit more like her. She didn't dislike Rachel as she was, she was just curious. Besides, she could probably change her back if it didn't work out. Hopefully.
Before she could overthink herself out of it, she approached Rachel.
"Uh, Rach? Could I see the camera real quick?"
Rachel looked at her for a moment before handing the camera over. "Sure. What store did you say yo wanted to go to, again?"
"Barnes and Noble." The bookstore would be the ideal location for doing this change. Assuming the camera took location into account when changing things, a place filled with books, manga, and study materials would be perfect for ensuring Rachel would change as intended.
The girls both entered the store. Emiko made sure to lead her friend towards the textbook section, pretending to be looking for a particular book. She did have that math test coming up, after all.
Hazarding a glance behind her, Emiko saw that Rachel was utterly toned out, sitting on her phone and not seeming to pay attention to anything else. Emiko slowly raised the camera, her hands shaking as she focused hard on what she wanted Rachel to become before...
Rachel sighed as she scrolled through her feeds, going past junk fitness tips and news on the World Cup. She had to tell Em to spend less time on this nerd stuff later, after all, she had to get to practice soon.

She had to get to gaming club soon. Wait, was that right? Reika suddenly remembered she also had a math test to study for, and quickly got up to join her friend.
Emiko could scarcely believe it, the camera had worked! While checking out the two textbooks for her and her new friend, she took a look to really appreciate her handiwork. While Rachel was tall, muscular, a little tanned, and had curly hair, Reika was none of that. Now a little shorter than Emiko, with little muscle to speak of and straight black hair. Her clothes had changed too, turning into a t-shirt with the Chainsaw Man cast on it and a pair of sweatpants. The biggest change, however, was to her race. Rachel had been Caucasian, while Reika was clearly now Japanese, with pale skin and almond shaped eyes only slightly obscured by her glasses.
As the two girls left the store, Emiko looked at the camera still in her hands. Equal parts awe and horror at the sheer power she was holding weighed on her mind.
