The first seven days of August marked the start of late summer/early fall, which was, in a way, good since many people were getting tired of all the heat waves. However, there were a few new things that were 'hot' in a way that had nothing to do with temperature or climate.

What was probably the biggest thing, in terms of attention, was the IAC Games, which still had both the "Beach Bod" Competiton on Mieni Atoll, the IAC Flyer Games, which was divided into "modern birds" and "dinosaurs" (since flying reptiles technically weren't dinosaurs), and the "throwing" and "jumping" part of the Track and Field events. One, relatively minor, thing became a low-level meme.
One mare Animalian competing in the long jump was caught adjusting her track bottoms after her jump. The caption that accompanied the image was as follws:
It's not enough for female long jumpers to jump farther than 99% of all people. They have to do it in tiny underwear that gives them a wedgie when they do so.
However, this did cause an unexpected thing: a call for redesigning sports uniforms for all Animalians, not just females. What drew notoriety was how many PG-13+ designs were submitted, especially since roughly 2/3rds of the submitted designs were focused on the male Animalians.

Another thing was an indirect result of Lars' and Phillip's conversion: a large number of divorcees coming to Animalia for conversions, and for new lives as well. It was no real secret that the majority of them were men who were on the receiving end of divorces. What made it surprising, though, was that a large number of them had roughly the same story: they'd been cheated on, dumped, then divorced. Fortunately, Animalia didn't discriminate against anyone who sought conversion, but they did require any planed meetings with exes be supervised by members of the Rhino Guard to prevent harm in case some divorcees considered revenge against their exes. While there were no threats of violence, the Rhino Guard's body cams did record some downright priceless reactions, mainly by the exes.

Another popular thing going on, though this time on the website, was Miles' coverage of the Colony in France. Like usual, he had broken even at the casino, but what made it different was that he had covered one of Miss Mallow's book signings. What made it especially priceless was that no one, not even Eloise, had told him that this would be one of her more adult books, and seeing Miss Mallow in a particularly risqué dress for the "publicity" was something he definitely wasn't expecting. Fortunately for him, the coverage was locked firmly behind the premium section of the website, allowing him to focus more on the new additions to the French colony.
