Rico sprinted to wear his family RVs were parked. He made sure he was alone then he took out the wad of cash that he had hidden for his car purchase fund. He had almost $3000 saved. He divided it among his pockets, and sprinted back to the school.
Coach and the black clad stranger were still bidding on the quilt when Rico returned. Rico was panting, and drenched with sweat. They were bidding in $5 increments, and the quilt was up to $750. Chad was ranting, cursing, pleading for help, but no one seemed to hear. Rico stared at the quilt, and licked his lips. The auctioneer said, "$750 going once, $ 750 going twice..."
Rico shouted, "$1000".
The auctioneer relieved to a bigger bid increase than $5, and wanting to end this, said, "One thousand going once, one thousand going twice, one thousand,"
Both the coach and the black clad stranger glared at Rico.
