The smell of salt water filled Kim’s nose as the early morning sun illuminated the sea as the tour boat headed out toward the coral reef.
“So we got 24 guests.” Said the elder of the guild Nancy as she looked at the people on the boat and her three other guides.
“So everyone takes six?” inquired Tom
“Yes.” Confirmed Nancy “Kim, I believe it’s your turn to decide which group you want.”
Kim looked over the groups, judging by how the people were acting there was roughly four groups.
The first group, or rather the first two groups was a group of twelve college age kids who all seamed to be together. They had to be either recent college grads or close enough to make no difference. The twelve of them where all talking together, and she could make out more then a few people who seamed to be couples. Having to deal with such a large group would be a pain but she could team up with another guild and keep everyone together. One of her major worries with dealing with college kids, it felt a little weird since she was in grad school herself and she had to deal more than once with some drunk/hung over person doing something stupid. None of them seemed hung over which was a plus and since a lot of them looked to be with their partner they where less likely to do something like feel her up, which had happened two times this summer alone. Exploring the reef with people her own age was always fun which was an added plus.
The third group was clearly a family, a father and mother with two kids along with what looked to be an Uncle and his girlfriend. That was the safest option but also the most annoying, dealing with two little kids, judging by their ages they had to be 10 and 7 was always a pain. It was nice to watch their reaction to seeing the reef but they also had a habit of wanting to grab everything and God helped her if they started struggling because a crying session wasn’t outside the realm of possibilities.
The last group was maybe the most annoying but also likely the easiest to deal with. There were five of them, three girls two boys dressed in of all things Mermaids/merman tails while the last one prepared some waterproof camera. They were clearly influencers, who were going out on the reef not because they really cared about ocean life but to get great pics for their followers. She found those people so annoying; they didn’t care at all and just wanted the likes on their photos. However, since they only really wanted the photos, she could take them to the best photo spots on the reef and call it early, she would also have to answer a lot less questions, which was always a plus. On the massive downside, since the life jacket would mess up the photos, they were more likely to try to take it off which was a no…no and she would have to deal with that.
