You decide that your best option for now is to hide and rest. You never flew before, so you are starting to feel your muscles bzrning already. Close to the town is a little forest that separates the town from a hilly area. You remember that you‘ve found a few small caves there when you were out exploring with your friends. You fly to the nearest cave there that you can find and end up kind of crash landing of exhaustion inside. Hastily you check if the pen and papers are still okay before you crawl deeper inside the cave and push the items forward with your wings.
You rest and nap for a while, the items protected under your wings.
You wake up to the reddish rays of the setting sun. You jump up on your tiny bat feet, hoping for a second that everything was a nightmare, but looking down you still see your furry little body and wings, you also still can’t speak. You sigh mentally before you gather all your energy to try and fix yourself.
You lay out the drawing of yourself as tidily ad you can and place little stones on the edges of the paper to hold it in place. After seemingly ages you decide the easiest thing you could try to do, would be to restore your mouth. You try several poses and techniques to hold the pen somehow and after several attempts you believe you can somewhat hold it secure when you hold it with both your wings bend around it.
You take a deep breath. a simple line for a mouth should be enough, you think hopefully, that can’t be so hard! You manage to bring the pen in position where you want your mouth to start and you start drawing. You press the pen with your bodyweight down on the paper and walk backwards to draw the line, slowly. It seems to be working!
But your excitement gets to you and you get too giddy and trip backwards. The pencil line slips of but on a seemingly will of it’s own lets the drawing look more like an animal snout. The line of the mouth is a bit too curvy but is connected with a split to the nose, where somehow a graphite shadow is making it look like a black button nose.
You panic as you feel your face itching as it starts to reflect the drawing. Your nose is changing slightly while your face pushes forward to a tiny snout. You feel a mouth returning but your teeth seem to take on the shape of pointy bat teeth. You touch your new tiny black nose with your wings and feel around it. It seems like your face is now closer resembling the rest of your body. You try to speak but only a squeak escapes your lips. You feel devastated, this isn’t what you wanted at all.
By now the sun has almost disappeared, leaving you feeling defeated about the situation and still unsure what to do next to restore your body. You don’t feel like you would be capable at fixing yourself alone.
