"Mom, no!" said Jeff, running into his room.
Judy looked up at him, a mix of anger and surprise on her face, and her finger hit the delete button.
And she simply ceased to exist.
For a split second, her empty clothes seemed to float in mid-air before they collapsed in a heap on Jeff's chair. And that was it. She was gone.
His eyes tearing up, Jeff scooped his mom's still-warm clothes off the chair. What had she done? His heart beating, he looked at the Chronivac. It didn't take long for him to realize she had been using the delete button. A bit more searching turned up a folder marked "Deleted", and clicking on it revealed all the names and profiles that had been erased.
That was close, he thought to himself. If she had deleted me as well, I wouldn't be around to do this! It can't be that hard, can it? How exactly do you undo deletions anyway?
Jeff right-clicked on one of the profiles, and sure enough there was a "Restore" function. It can't be that easy, can it? Considering erasing someone from existence was easy, though, Jeff was sure that that was all he needed. Wait, there was also an "Undo" button? What's the difference?
He shrugged. Right now what was important was bringing everyone back.
