"Okay Candy I think that's enough," Amanda stated, trying to sound authoritative.
"Oh cmon Amanda don't be such a buzzkiil," Candy groaned. Amanda frowned, once more turning to her reflection before gazing at the counter. The months were still falling away from her as Candy gained them. Right now the pair were about five years apart in age. If she didn't stop this soon enough she would find herself Candy's little sister or worse.
"I'm NOT a buzzkill," Amanda insisted, as the age gap continued to narrow between Candy and herself. Her age was ticking down to 24 while Candy hit drinking age. "I just...isn't this enough?"
"No," Candy said. "I mean...you're always acting like you're in charge...but...I'm an adult now...stop treating me like a little kid."
"Why are you acting like this all of the sudden?" Amanda said.
"Because we're only a year apart, and you always act like you're in charge," she said, gesturing to the counters above them.
"Because I'm not really your older sister, I'm really your mom," she replied, putting her hands on her sides.
Candy gently took her arm, and directed her attention to the counter. "You won't even be my older sister for much longer." The two counters were ten months apart. "This is like New Year's Eve....." She said. The numbers continued to shift, the gap between them narrowing.
Candy felt an odd fog come over her as they hit the same age. But it didn't last very long...as she moved toward 23 as her sister headed toward 22. She looked at Amanda differently, starting to feel a bit protective of her. "How are you feeling, Mandy?" She asked.
The younger girl blinked. "What did you call me? I hate that nickname...it is SO immature," she said. "I hate it when people call me Mandy. I'm 21 year...Wait...I'm much older than that....but it feels so...wrong..."
Candace was looking increasingly good as she was moving toward her mid-twenties, and her body continued to outshine Mandy's at an equivalent age...apparently she took better care of herself. "I always call you Mandy...don't I? Since we were kids..."
"No, when we were kids you called me...brat," she said.
"That's because you were a little brat," she replied. "I mean...ruining my dates..."
