As Lorelai and Alice now watched the three children sprint through the play area, Alice couldn't help but want to know what Lorelai knew about the dice. "So this type of thing has happened before?"
Lorelai chuckled, clutching the dice tightly in her hand. "More often than anyone wants to admit," she grinned. "Thats why we ended up installing this play area. Far too many unlucky owners looking to return the dice after finding their way back to grade school."
"Why does that happen," Alice asked.
"Well it has to do with the spirit of youth within the dice," Lorelai stated. "You see, the spirit believes that the more often you roll the better chance it has of escaping. It influences the dice in that way, either through indirect means or creating an intoxicating effect that the user can't get enough of."
"Is that why we couldn't stop?"
"Youth is intoxicating," Lorelai stated, the 53 year old woman rubbing her chin as she gazed at the dice in her hand. A quick roll in her own hand now caused the voice to echo once more.
Fifty three years you have walked this Earth. Now this number is but forty five. Each roll of the dice returns more if what you have lost.
Alice gawked, watching as the orbs of light now drifted off the middle age gypsy woman. The womans hair was a wild salt and pepper mix, her face having several deep creases around her eyes and mouth, while her body was beginning to take on a shapeless mass associated with old age. Now though the womans youth began to return, the grey slowly being replaced with its previous ebony color, her wrinkles smoothing as her body began to take shape once more. Letting out a contented sigh, she turned and smiled at the gawking teenage Alice. "Why did you do that!"
"Well," Lorelai grinned. "This isn't my first experience with the dice. I know I'll be able to fix it soon. Still, it's a good thing you showed up when you did. These dice are highly addictive." Alice nodded, watching as Lorelai rolled once more.
Forty five years you have walked this Earth. Now this number is but Thirty eight.
"How long did you have these," Lorelai asked, her grey hair vanishing, her wrinkles smoothing as she returned to her thirties once more. "Um about two weeks," Alice replied sheepishly. Lorelai's eyes went wide at Alice's response. "You're lucky you cane here when you did," she said. "Any longer and the four of you could have rolled yourselves out of existence."
"Wait that can happen?!""
Lorelai nodded, once more rolling the dice and landing on an eight. Alice watched in morbid fascination as the gypsy drifted further back in age. Lorelai's hair had now returned to its rich ebony color, her hair a collection of spiral curls. The woman running her hands through her thick hair as she smiled at the teenage girl. "Well not exactly out of existence," Lorelai replied. "More like returning to the womb. The spirit can't unmade you buy what it can do is regress you to unbirth. Ove seen it many a times over the years. Some poor fool so caught up with useong the dice that they don't realize the danger until its too late. Once you reach the point there's nothing we can do. Your stuck having to grow up all over again."
Alice simply nodded, thankful she had come to her senses before that happened. What would've become of them if they were forced to be born again. As she was about to ask another question, she watched Lorelai rolled once more.
Thirty years you have walked this Earth. Now this number is but Twenty four.
Alice gawked watching the gypsy race backwards through her twenties. The womans ebony curls bouncing with renewed life, her eyes sparkling with youthful energy. Lorelai's olive skin was flawless, her body slimming while as her stomach flattened while her hips flared and breasts rose. The now young gypsy lifting her floor length dress slightly. Alice and Lorelai admiring the womans smooth feet and firm legs. "Um you're starting to get kinda young," Alice stammered.
"I know," Lorelai giggled. "But, unlike you and your friends I'm immune to the addictive nature of the dice. Besides, I have plenty of items around here to counteract the effects."
"So why roll them?"
"Because the kids look like they're having so much fun," Lorelai grinned, pointing to the excited 9 year olds. "And it's been quote sometime since I was that young." Alice gasped, trying to talk Lorelai out of rolling herself into childhood. Unfortunately, Lorelai seems determined, Alice watching as the young woman rolled once more.
Twenty four years you have walked this Earth. Now this number is but Sixteen.
The latest changes to Lorelai were astounding. The womans face rounding as she reentered her teens. Both girls watching as Lorelai's curves eroded, her breasts shrinking into a pair of perky B cups. Looking at her legs, the gypsy watched as they began to thin as her feet shrank slightly. Giggling, she now wiggled her toes as she tried to get her sandals to fit right. "Pretty neat huh," Lorelai giggled, her ebony spiral curls bouncing with youthful vitality.
"Umm Lorelai maybe that's enough," Alice said nervously, it still seems unreal that she had watched a woman over fifty regress to a teenage girl in only moments. "Maybe," Lorelai replied, the girl rubbing her round chin impishly. "But running around like a kid sounds like more fun!"
Sixteen years you have walked this Earth. Now this number is but Nine.
Alice gasped, watching Lorelai giggle as the orbs began to drift off the teenage gypsy. Inches slowly began to melt from the girl, puberty rewinding as her curves flattened while her breasts melted away. Alice's view of the girl began to drift lower as Lorelai gradually lost height, her feet slowly rising off the ground as her feet became dwarfed in her now far too large sandals.
As the process completed, Lorelai beamed up at Alice with a toothy grin. Looking over herself the olive skinned girl glanced at her tiny feet, shaking off her large sandals before running a hand through her thick ebony spiral curls. "Ah much better," she chirped, her voice high and childish. "Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to have some fun before everything gets fixed!"
