You decide on looking after the snakes. You find them the most interesting to look after and rather beautiful with all the different colors and patterns they come in.
Its been about a week, you've had some training in how to take care of the snakes and making sure they're well fed and in good health. Today is your first overnight shift, you're told that its probably going to be pretty quiet so it would be a good opportunity for you to catch up on some studying or to do some extra cleaning. After all, its a good idea to stand out at a new job! You walk through the exibits, making sure the enclosures are clean. You notice some pieces of shed skin in one of the enclosures. You go through the employees only door to the back to access the enclosure to tidy it up. It was the enclosure for the corn snakes, a nonvenomous variety of scakes, commonly confused for the coral snake. Still, you're careful to not disturb them. Picking out the pieces of shed, you notice one of the snakes is in the process of shedding. From the material you were provided, you know that some times the snakes might need a little help when it comes to removing the shed. You carefully pick up the snake and take it to one of the tables. You carefully rub your fingers along the snake's body to help loosen the shed. You make sure not to apply too much pressure as to not hurt the snake.
