"Why, I plan on regressing you to a baby dragon and then sell you. You should fetch a more than hefty price, you know. Many wouldn't mind having a dragon as a pet. Other dragons are also willing to get their claws on babies to adopt."
Uh-oh... This couldn't be good. Jasper gulped. Once a hatchling, his chances of becoming human would be even more removed. After all, who would be interested in a human male, however royal, when he or she had purchase a valuable dragon hatchling? No one, that's who. So he had to get out of here and fast. So the former prince turned around, ran and started to spread his wings to take flight. Karltin could do magic and thus was no doubt dangerous. Unfortunately, as Jasper was about to rise from the ground, a wave of magic hit him and he fell back to the ground. He couldn't move and felt utterly immobilised. Then the world spread, becoming bigger and looming. No! It was horrible enough to go from being a spoiled prince to a female dragon, but to wind up as a baby dragon and remain a girl... Ugh! He'd be even more helpless than before! And he'd be sold! To whom, Jasper could only guess for now but no option felt appealing.
When the world finally stopped getting bigger, Kartlin approached. He looked massive now!
"That's much better," he smiled, bending down. "And aren't you a true sweetie, Pearl? Coochie-coochie-coo!"
He tickled Jasper under the chin, which resulted in uncontrollable giggles on the part of Jasper, much to his mortification and deep shame.
"Don't worry, I'll make sure your new owner will mollycoddle you to the extreme," said the witch as he grabbed Jasper, now Pearl, by the scruff of the neck and placed him in a locked cage. He then made his merry way back to his cottage, already thinking of the gold pieces and gems the sale of Pearl would be certain to bring him.
