Melanie scurried up the stairs on all fours in a state of shock at what her new housemate, who was claiming to be a witch, had just done to her. Melanie was a well educated, logical person and had never for one minute considered the possibility that magic and witchcraft were real but there was no denying her clothes had just vanished from her body and she was finding it impossible not to act as if she were a dog. Even her ability to speak had currently been taken from her. This scared Melanie - what else could the witch downstairs, who already seemed to have taken a disliking to her, do?
Melanie reached the top of the stairs and quickly located the door to her room. However, she was immediately faced with a huge logistical problem. Whilst acting as if she were a dog it was impossible for Melanie to operate the handle to open her door. She tried in desperation to leap up and grab it with her mouth a couple of times but it was clear that was not going to work. If Beth had a magical guest who was more powerful and even meaner than her arriving soon she wanted to be concealed in the safety of her room. Unfortunately she was going to need help for that. Resting on her knees with her hands placed on the floor in front of her and facing her impassible bedroom door Melanie barked for her housemates attention as if she were a dog trying to alert it's owner to something. There was no reaction from downstairs but to Melanie's surprise a door behind her swung open. She turned around and looked up to see a chubby, slightly nerdy looking teenage boy looking down at her.
"Woah! Are you the new housemate Beth was talking about? You're pretty!" He smiled "What happened to your clothes."
An embarrassed Melanie looked up at the boy and barked. Surely he could figure out what had happened here?
"Oh, right. My sister did this to you. Sorry, Beth can be such a bitch sometimes" The boy stopped and simply gawped at Melanie for a few moments.
"Arf!" Melanie snapped him out of his trance.
"Oh right, I'm Marcus, Beth's younger brother. I'm here to practice my magic. Your name is Melanie right?"
"Arf!"
"Well it's nice to meet you Melanie! I guess you could probably use my help huh?"
"Arf! Ruff! Arf!" Melanie agreed emphatically.
