Jasper endured a few weeks of rough, violent sex with Cobalt before deciding she couldn't take any more. She was still stuck brooding her eggs, thanks to her stupid instincts, however. Jasper simmered in anger at her inability to leave at first, particularly once her belly began to swell with a new egg. But then she came up with an idea to circumvent her instincts.
She could take the eggs with her!
Jasper secretly gathered a large fabric sack from the pile of items not good enough to be Cobalt's hoard. All three eggs would fit inside perfectly. Then, she waited until everyone was asleep. When the last hatchling closed its eyes, Jasper stuffed her eggs into the sack and sprinted out of the cave as quietly as she could. She didn't realize that her latent dragon magic was actually making her movements completely silent.
Once out of the cave, Jasper took flight, using her wings for the first time. It was exhilarating! She flew until she couldn't fly any more, then she landed in a desert oasis. Jasper checked her eggs. All three were fine. She sighed in relief. Worn out from her escape, Jasper curled up around her eggs and fell asleep. In the morning, she would make plans for her next move.
