Prince Jasper, now a female baby dragon called Pearl for all intents and purposes, was at first somewhat relieved to be given to Antyny. They had a sort of competitive friendship, Antyny being the son of the highest castle dignitary and not the son of the actual king like Jasper was. Sure, Jasper was happy to show Antyny who was boss and to see him fail in front of him but he was still his friend. Right? Without his father, Antyny's dad would have no job, right? He'd find a way to help him out and get him back to his first appearance. He was rumored to practice magic, after all, even if Jasper had not actually seen him do any. If he was king, it was only to keep things stable until Jasper's eventual return, right? It was worth being treated like a present and package until he could reach the castle. Jasper would get the guard hauling him on the horse executed anyway. Alas, his hopes got dashed extremely fast.
First, Antyny, upon seeing him brought by the knight, raised an eyebrow in curiosity. He was lounging on the throne and seeing the pink dragon, he looked surprised.
"Jasper? Is that really you?"
Jasper nodded with all his might. But Antyny just laughed so hard he almost fell off the throne.
"It really is you! Incredible! Anya was right! And you look absolutely ridiculous! As moronic as you were as a human jerk, in fact."
Uh-oh. This was not going at all the way it should have.
"I am king, now. I'll marry Anya. Your rule's over before it ever began. And I don't want to see you or endure even your presence. You've humiliated me so much, now it's your turn. I've sent you to be a gift to a king I want to get favors from."
Jasper must have looked shocked as the new young king continued.
"Anya's dealt with your father, mother and little sister. As for you... I don't want to spoil the surprise. You can figure out for yourself what that other king wants with you. Or if he even knows who you once were. As I said. Why spoil the surprise?"
His grin was very, very nasty and Jasper could only quake in fear in what fate had in store for him.
