Karltin's egg hatched first. It was bigger and the regression spell had not made it as young as Prince Jasper's egg. The two adult dragons watched over it with much anticipation. Their first little princess was going to hatch! She was going to see them and they'll be able to finally nurture her! Their wait had seemed like it would last forever. And with one darling baby born, waiting for the second would be easier. The egg was cracking, revealing their much-awaited Pyrite. Ignis' instincts to care and protect her surge when he watched the cracks grow bigger than their web-like shape and a tiny claw and snout tentatively protrude out. She was magnificent! Perfect! He knew that already and was certain her sister would be the same. Pyrite would be their pride and joy!
As for Pyrite, or rather Karltin, she was less than impressed. In fact, he hated his present situation. It was so humiliating! Stuck as a female dragon in an egg! Ugh! How vile! Of course, the irony that he'd stuck Jasper into this very same position was lost on him. Although Karltin had spent most of his time in a dreamless sleep, he could still remember who and where he was in the fog that was his brain. He dimly recalled he had to escape from this tight prison as fast as possible. It was only an eggshell, for crying out loud! But he was too weak and the smooth walls, though tight, too solid. Until it felt really too tight and he sensed his muscles, though puny now, were ready top crack it. So he pushed and pushed. Problem was, he was greeted, through his blurry version by two large dragon faces clearly ready to treat him like a real baby, fussing over him and intent on pampering him like a princess! This sounded even more humiliating!...
