Mascot for a water park was a strange idea. You'd think all that fake fur or fabric would be a massive pain to dry out. Sure it was probably treated to prevent that but it still seemed like a weird idea.
Still the offer was genuine.
When you asked the poor sap at the ticket counter(an easy thing to do given there were only two people ahead of you, maybe it's busier on the weekend), he pointed out the manager's office was in the back of the park. Giving you an 'interview' ticket that would explain why you were without a normal band, he wished you luck on the form as he waved you in.
Wondering what he meant by that, maybe paper work, you walked through the park. Most the offices were in the back of park, the east side while you walked in the western gate. A northern gate existed but more for overflow and exiting. Several pools were dotted around the park of different sizes. The main attraction were a pair of water slides, red and yellow in color with the red one being taller with exciting names like "Giant's Drop" and "Amazon's plunge". Once you got around some buildings you saw a smaller slide in green off to the side simply named "Short's Stops".
Besides that the two other main attractions were a lazy winding river named "Winding Nile" and an artificial surf machine named "Bae Waves" or something. You noticed a few other attractions but they seemed more like park games or store stalls than anything else and were dotted around the park.
You got to the office and knocked on the door. A voice asked you to enter and when you did you saw a middle aged man with thick glasses and salt and pepper hair starting at at the edges of his scalp. He ran a hand through his beard as he observed you taking a seat in the small office space before digging out some papers from the desk he sat behind. He stood up a bit to shake your hand and motioned you to sit on the folding chair.
"Welcome, sorry for the seat, have to make cuts somewhere. Name's Robertson and I'm in charge such as it is. I hear you're interested in the job?"
You nod and decide to be honest about your situation. Just a simple job for hopefully the short term or maybe transition from mascot to a better paying position in the park. For now though you just needed a way of getting some cash on the table, but that didn't mean you were going to just slack off. Mr Roberston nodded and asked for your name and records. He typed it all up on a computer sitting on the desk.
"Lets' see; no Felonies, no Drug issues, go getter, willing to improve skill set." he muttered as he strokes his beard again, "...well, I'd say you might be over qualified. Honestly we just put the ad out there and were gonna give it to the first mug that walked in so congrats are in order." he stood again and shook your hand, motioning you to follow him outside.
He walked down the length of small buildings in the back before he stopped at one and knocked. It opened and a rather tall and toned woman answered. Her dusty blonde hair was tied up in a short pony tail and her green eyes glanced from her boss to you a few times. Her skin was tanned and was covered by a tight red one piece swimsuit. She was pretty attractive and it was hard to not stare at her chest.
Not just because she was pretty stacked. The area around her chest on the swimsuit was labeled with the word 'Guard' under lined a few times and she wore a whistle on a rubber lanyard that draped over her chest.
"Ah Miss Hart, glad I caught you." Roberston said before gesturing to you, "We have someone applying for the Mascot position. Could you get him squared away?"
"Really? Been needing a new one, come in come in!" the woman said with a smile as she reached down and grabbed you, pulling you inside.
Inside the room was a break room. It spun off into hallways marked male and female lockers and washrooms. Along with another door that lead to 'storage'. The woman pulled you into a chair and sat you down before taking out a measuring tape, pulling the length around your waist, arms, legs and more. She wasn't handys but it was still a bit akward.
"So uh.... what role am I getting?" you asked as she wrote down the numbers on a note pad.
"Hmmm? Oh right I guess boss didn't tell you. We need a bunch of mascots." she muttered.
"What?"
"YEAH see a lot of these attractions are supposed to have attractions so boss figured anyone applying should get a chance to pick what they want to be. Makes a bit of since I guess. If you're that down bad for a job, better to let you pick your poison than stuff you in like a clown suit." Ms Hart said with a bit of a forced smile.
She passed you a sheet with all the positions missing and asked you to pick one out. You looked at the list and started to think of what position to grab.
