AS DAVID CARRIED ON WALKING, he coulda sworn he heard the rustling of some bushes.
"Who's there?" he asked, whipping round. But he saw no one.
"Huh." he muttered. "I coulda sworn I heard something."
He carried on walking as if nothing had happened.
--------------
It wasn't too long till he reached the lake.
He sat down on a bench there, and stared out at the lake.
hE Remembered the scales that grew on his body. "it made me look like I'd turned into a lizard." he said to himself, chuckling.
He rubbed his ears, remembering when his ears pointed. He remembered the bats from the time when he and his family went hiking, and the bats chased him into a lake. "it took ME a whole hour to dry off.” he chuckled.
He sat there for a while.
