Colin walked through the automatic doors and gave his list one last look. He wasn’t usually here on Fridays, but Wendy’s frustrated binge ended up wiping out the rest of the milk and of course Lucy was on her period.
He went to produce and rounded up the tomatoes, oranges, Christy’s apples, and all the veggies for spring rolls tomorrow. Next to it was Lucy’s Nutella, his eyes drifting over to a small yellow sign.
“Two for the price of one, eh?” Colin asked himself as he reached for a second jar, his fingers brushing against someone else’s.
“Oh sorry about that I didn’t see… you…”
“Heyyy, funny seeing you here.” She smiled as she bit her lip.
It was one of the sorority sisters, standing next to her own cart; the water balloon gunner for orange number one, stretching her long sepia leg towards him whilst playing with her thick dark curls.
“I don’t have time for this…” Colin sighed as he walked to the cooler and grabbed a couple jugs of milk and walked over to the eggs.
“Almost forgot the… yogurt.” Colin sighed.
“We didn’t see you at the party.” The sorority sister smiled.
Colin ignored her and grabbed a tub of Sam’s Greek yogurt with honey and Jamie’s Green Skittles Yoplait, walking faster to the bakery at the very edge by as he yanked the ciabatta for breakfast right out of the basket.
“Mmmm that my fave.” The sorority sister said with a lip-licking smack.
“Didn’t ask.” Colin flatly replied and he grabbed Angela’s lemon poppyseed muffins and went over to the water-&-juice section for Zoya’s sparkling leechee water and then to the soda for Christy’s Strawberry Crush; lo and behold sorority sister followed.
Getting rice? She followed.
Getting the bread? Followed.
Paper plates? She followed.
Ever single aisle, next to every single thing on his list, she was waiting right there and Colin was getting super peeved about it.
‘How can I tell her to fuck off without telling her to fuck off?’ He thought as he realized that he forgot something in the bakery…. and then he got an idea.
An awful idea.
He got a wonderful, awful idea.
The sorority sister followed him as he walked over to the cakes and started “thinking out loud”.
“Oh boy oh boy I sure do have a craving for some chocolate cake…” Colin lied as he walked over to the counter.
Sure enough sorority sister was bent down in the most blatant attempt to show him her ass.
And then he made the move she wasn’t expecting.
“Hey yeah, I’m ordering a chock cake…” Colin said as he grabbed the microphone and shouted “FOR MY GIRLFRIEND AND NOT FOR THE WOMAN STANDING OVER THERE!!!!”
Sorority sister immediately got flustered as several people stared at her hitting on him.
“What the hell?!” She snapped, “I was just asking you to come over, dick!”
“And I said no MULTIPLE TIMES.” Colin said as he pointed to a design without looking “Yeah that’s the one.”
“Who’s this bitch anyway? Gimme her name, I wanna see the competition.” The sorority sister huffed.
“The compe- THERE IS NO COMPETITION!” Colin scowled.
“And what’s the name on this cake?” The nervous lady behind the counter asked.
Colin blurted out a name without thinking.
Someone noticed the name and came closer.
“Oh THAT’S the bitch’s name.” The sorority girl sneered.
“I’m serious, leave me alone.” Colin scowled as he felt the burning pink light spread across his skin.
“Alright sir, it’s ready.” The cashier said as Colin tapped his card, the pink light fading from his body as he grabbed the cake and walked away.
And that’s when he actually read the frosting and noticed it said
