Before Pam could think of anything, her stomach began to growl. At first she didn't think much of it and kept trying to think about what she should do as a toddler. But as more time passed, her stomach began to growl even louder than before. Not to mention that every time she tried to think, she ended up getting distracted by thinking about food. It was then that Pam finally realized what was happening to her: she was hungry.
This was to be expected, after all she hadn't eaten anything all day, not to mention that children her age have very small stomachs. The most appropriate thing would be for her to wait for the workers to feed them, but Pam didn't like the idea of waiting, so she decided to use a lie again to get what she wanted.
"It's snack time already!", Pam exclaimed very quietly.
Just after telling her new lie, one of the daycare workers showed up unexpectedly and started picking her up.
"All right, sweetie, it's time for lunch!”, the lady coos, poking Pam's nose.
Before long, both Pam and the rest of the infants were taken to a room full of high chairs and small tables. Clearly the small tables were for the older children since all the babies and the children the same age as Pam were inserted into the high chairs.
Pam was one of the last children to be placed in the high chairs. She didn't know what to expect since apparently each of the infants were served something completely different. Some were given small cuts of fruit, others were given porridge, others were given cereal, among other foods. And as for drinks, some were given water, others were given juice, and others were given milk. Not to mention that they were served differently: either in sippy cups, straw cups or baby bottles.
Seeing the food they were serving to the rest, Pam couldn't help but feel even more excited about what they were going to serve her. But just when her food was finally served to her, all excitement for the food faded away and was replaced with disgust instead. Unlike other children, she was served a small plate containing broccoli, a vegetable that she hated a lot as a baby and that to this day she still hates. Not to mention that as a drink they served her a sippy cup full of carrot juice, something that she also disliked.
This was so unfair. While other children were given delicious food, she was given some of the worst. If only there was a way to fix this. It was then that Pam remembered that she could still use another lie to replace her food. So at that moment, Pam decided to tell her next lie.
"They served me......"
