This story takes place before Hailey began her training but after she officially joined S.P.E.A.R
Kali had taken Stephanie and Travis to an outdoor restaurant, where she sat on one side and insisted that Travis and Stephanie sit on the opposite side of her so they could be closer, though the two of them were obviously still uncomfortable being near one another after they had last spoken.
"Okay, I'm going to let you two chat, while I go inside and order some food for us. Oh, and just so you two can actually chat..." Kali said as she pushed Stephanie's chair a little closer to Travis making Stephanie blush.
Stephanie sat there glancing over at Travis as he did the same. The two of them still sat there awkwardly while they still waited for Kali. Stephanie saw an employee walk by offering some free healthy choices from their menu.
"Apple samples, ma'am?" The employee asked as Stephanie nodded and took a bite out of it, it felt very refreshing and she even perked up a little more. Stephanie decided to finally speak to break the tension.
"I was never mad at you, you know." Stephanie said. "What?" Travis said finally turning to look at her. "Back at the house, Kali said you thought I was mad at you. That couldn't be further from the truth, I was never mad at you. I was more mad at myself. I mean, I thought I was a cute sheep girl for a while and I slapped you in the face when you didn't deserve it."
"Well, I thought you were still mad at me after that whole situation. It seemed like you, even if you were part sheep." Travis admitted.
"Travis, my parents...." Stephanie took a deep breath. "My actual parents, not my moms. Sometimes it seems to me that they're almost just a memory. I don't want you to become just a memory, Travis. After my moms, you've made me love again, real love. But I understand if you never want to see me again, so just tell your sister that I'm sorry this didn't work out." Stephanie said as she stood up to leave.
"Stephanie!" Travis quickly grabbed her shoulder and turned around to face him. "Stephanie, you will never be just a memory to me. You are an incredible woman. You've got two mothers who love you for who you are, not who you will be. And you've got some good friends that want to see you happy, and that's what I want to do for you, make you happy. Just tell me what I can do." Travis said.
"Well....you can kiss me again for one thing." Stephanie said as Travis kissed her passionately. They didn't notice it, but flowers popped out of Stephanie's hair as it became curly and slightly longer.
When they broke from the kiss, they both looked at Stephanie's hair and giggled before starting to laugh. As they were laughing, Kali suddenly returned with a tray of food for the three of them.
"I hope you're ready for a good meal and a good talking, because I'm..." Kali looked to see the two of them sitting down and holding hands with Stephanie having flowers in her hair as well as it being longer.
"Oh, you made up already. Well, I think I like to played a part in all of this." Kali said as she looked at the flowers.
"Travis, what did you do to that girl's hair?" Kali asked. "I don't think I did it, I thought you might have done it." Travis said rubbing his neck.
"Wait a minute..." Kali said sniffing the air. "Stephanie, have you eaten an apple recently?" Kali asked. "Uh, yeah, I got a sample from that employee over there." Stephanie said as an employee walked over waving to the three of them with a tray of healthy food.
"Stephanie, pleased to meet you. Kali, Travis, always nice to see the family out and about." The girl said.
"Family? So, you're also...?" Stephanie began to ask. "A god? Yes, the name's Idunn with two 'N's. The Norse goddess of youth. I used to be Hebe from the Greeks, but I kind of got tired of the Greeks and being high and mighty and decided to move to the Norse, they were a little more connected with people."
"Idunn, I should have known. I'm guessing mom sent you out here?" Kali asked her sister. "Yep, mom messaged me and said our little brother was having a little love spat, so I decided to help Steph here get through this thing called life." Idunn replied.
"So, I'm guessing I have you to thank for the flowers in my hair?" Stephanie asked. "Yep, don't worry though, they come out easily. The hair, you'll probably have to get a haircut for." Idunn said.
"Actually, I kind of like it. What do you think, Travis?" Stephanie said flipping her hair towards Travis and playfully blinking at him.
"Stephanie, you always look beautiful to me." Travis replied as Stephanie sighed lovingly and placed her head on Travis's shoulder.
"I'll eat in a minute, I just want to feel your shoulder." Stephanie said as Kali began eating her food and glared over at Idunn.
"Don't give me that look, they're happy." Idunn said as Kali nodded.
