Janet in Wonderland: Giving the Wrong Impression (#2)

added A year ago BM S O

Janet then turns to face the living room, only to see the front door entrance instead. Janet chuckles at her forgetfulness.
"Oops, wrong way. Oh, dear me. I've only been a minute into this place, and I've already gotten myself mixed-up. I must be the worst Alice that ever was."
Janet then turned around and walked towards the living room. When she got there, Janet saw that all of the furniture was placed in the reversed placements of where they'd normally be.
"My word, this will be quite difficult to get used to."
Janet then walked over to the lounge chair and prepared to sit in it, seeing if it felt anything like her other chair. But as soon as Janet fully sat down, she heard a woman's voice coming from the chair itself and yelling at her.
"HEY! GET OFF OF ME!"
Janet immediately got to her feet and turned to see the lounge chair, moving and now possessing a face on its upper half. Janet stared in shock.
"Oh, my goodness. You're alive." Janet said.
" Well Of course I'm alive. But that doesn't give you the right to sit on me." The lounge chair said.
Janet instantly felt ashamed of herself for sitting on the sentient chair and tries to apologize.
"I am very sorry about that Ms. Chair. Please try to forgive me. You see I just arrived here and-" Janet tried to say, but Ms. Chair interrupts her.
"And that made it okay to sit on me?"
"Well, no. I realize that now. But considering that furniture doesn't usually talk back, I just-"
"{Gasps} HOW DARE YOU! First you sit on me and now you're insulting my entire race?"
"Oh no, that wasn't what I-" Janet responded, trying to apologize as she approaches Ms. Chair.
"DON'T TALK BACK TO ME GIRL AND STAY WHERE YOU ARE THIS INSTANT!"
Startled by Ms. Chair's outburst, Janet immediately closed her mouth and stood up straight, not wanting to anger her any further.
"Oye! What with all the yelling here?" Said an older male's voice right next to the pair.
More voices suddenly joined in.
"Yeah! We're trying to get some sleep!"
"Here now. What's the big idea here?"
"Whose face do I have to smash?"
"I NEED SCISSORS 61!"
Janet looks around her, shocked to discover that the rest of the furniture was also alive. The older male's voice spoke again, revealing it to belong to the couch.
"My dear Lounge Chair, why are you shouting for?"
"I couldn't help it. This rude girl just sat on me." Ms. Chair responded.
Everyone in the room gasped as all eyes were instantly on Janet, who gulped as she nervously stood in place. Then the Couch spoke to Janet.
"Young lady, this is a serious offense indeed. Now what do have to say for yourself?"
Janet clears her throat before apologizing.
"I am terribly sorry about all this. It was never my intention to offend anyone. I was simply curious about-"
"Wanting to feel superior to the rest of us?" Ms. Chair interrupted, with everyone else agreeing with her.
"No. That wasn't-"
"I say we sit on her and see how she likes it." Said a rocking chair.
"No. We should force her to be our housemaid for a month." Said a lamp.
"Well, I think she deserves a good spanking." Ms. Chair suggested.
"Everyone, calm down! Let's be civil about this." Said the Couch.
Soon the whole room was filled with noise as the furniture argued with each other over Janet's fate. Janet herself was slowly backing away from the group, trying to escape. But she was spotted by the group, who quickly yelled at her and forced her to remain in place. With the furniture still arguing, Janet began to quietly talk to herself.
"Oh dear. This is serious. I simply must get away from them. But they'll spot me trying to leave."
Janet sighs in frustration.
"I wish I could just shrink my way out of this mess."
As Janet stood there, she began to feel a strange tingle spread across her whole body. She looked down at herself and discovers that the amulet around her neck was glowing. She looked back up and noticed something different about the group of furniture. As Janet stares, she soon sees them growing larger right before her eyes. Looking away for a bit, Janet realizes that her surroundings were also getting bigger. Janet quickly checked her feet and saw the floor seemingly expand underneath them. She also noticed her skirt and apron slightly floating upwards, like they were being lifted by an invisible gust of wind. Noticing the glowing amulet again, Janet suddenly realized what was happening and gasps, instinctively covering her mouth with her right hand as she did so.
"Of course. The amulet must have heard my wish and granted it. And now it's shutting me up like a telescope.
Quite literately shrinking me out of this mess."
Janet then looked up at the still arguing furniture. Fortunately, none of them seemed to be aware of Janet's diminishing form.
"Thank goodness. There too busy yelling at each other to see me shrinking. Now all I have to do is till I'm small enough to escape."
Satisfied, Janet breathed a sigh of relief as she continued to shrink.
