The landlord put all of the missing boy's belongings outside. People were free to take these. This meant new masters for the genie. New opportunities to make mischief. He smiled to himself as he waited patiently within his lamp. Those mortals! They never did learned, did they? Always the same mistakes and each thinking he was smarter than the others... The genie sighed, resting in a hammock inside his lamp, which opened into a lavish apartment that had nothing to envy a palace. He could rest at leisure for centuries or millennia in here, although he had the feeling someone would rub his lamp soon. Someone was bound to find his vessel, amongst this teeming mass of humans who would run to him and even kill if they even knew a genie was around... The genie barely had a thought for Damon, now stuck as a statue in an art museum. Foolish boy... Too hasty in wishing for things, like all of his sort... Well, maybe he could do a little something... The genie napped his fingers lazily. This meant Damon would be extolled as a piece of valuable art and be the center of attention, critics fawning over his incredible shape holding flutes of champagne and waxing poetic endlessly about his figure and interpretations. At least the boy would feel valued. The genie dozed off.
He woke when he felt himself being dragged out into the world. Finally! He materialised into a room that was clearly that of a young girl. A teenager. She had paraphernalia which indicated she had celebrated her eighteenth birthday recently. In front of him was a quite beautiful young woman with blonde hair and very tanned skin. All around were designer sunglasses and clothes. She was clearly wealthy, although the genie thought her overlarge bottom and chest, as well as enormous lips, were too massive to be honest. He gathered rapidly that this young mortal had more than indulged in the practice of plastic surgery. But he was ancient and wise enough to know that what beauty was could shift drastically. What would she do then? She also had the material to expose herself on the internet. She was what mortals thought were the incredible "influencers". The display of vapid concerns and shallowness. Well, it would make things very, very entertaining. The genie knew that this mortal would make wishes without thoughts going around her empty skull. Oh, he would take great delight in twisting her words and bring her down a peg or two. She was the sort to demand more while being extremely mean to those she deemed lesser or felt envious of. The genie had met those before, both male and female. And each time, misinterpreting their shallow wishes had been tremendous fun. And by the sun did she not disappoint him!
"You... You're a genie?"
"Indeed, mistress," the genie answered with a bow, full of false respect. "I am at your service. Ask and you shall receive."
"Oh!" she exclaimed, delighted. "You grant wishes, then? How many?"
"Three, as per custom. I am bound to obey your heart's desires."
The girl stared at him, open-mouthed yet delighted. Her eyes sparkled with absolute joy.
"Then, I wish to be rich forever, I wish to be a princess and I wish to be admired by everyone!"
The genie thought this was just as hastily said and stupidly wished as he had hoped for. She was idiotic and selfish. She deserved the new life and humiliation he would grant her.
