Damon went around town upon his horse Sebastian, flaunting his wealth and discussing the topics of horse-riding with all of the smiths and farmers he could meet. He also bought some candy for his new parents and got the feel of how things were going for both farmers and traders. Fairly well, apparently. The weather was good and the crops ripening promisingly, guaranteeing a plentiful harvest. People had reasons to be happy. Damon was glad of that. Of course, living without electricity, hot running water, let alone running water at all, and no internet, meant that his new existence really was terrible at times. However, he was still royalty, a prince that will become king one day. Girls were already looking at him with a lot more interest than in his previous life. Naturally he was fully aware that it was all because of his very privileged status but he didn't care. He was successful with girls now! The genie was gone for good, letting him in this fairy tale world but Damon reflected that he could make it work. It wasn't like he could return home anyway.
After buying things and talking with the locals, Damon trotted back home, deciding to get into the woods leading to his castle while galloping across fields. When he entered the woods, he took a little path, letting Sebastian walk calmly. But suddenly he hear a voice at a turn. It was an old woman wrapped in a raggedy cloak and dress, holding a knobby cane.
"You seem innocent, prince of the castle. It is pity to think you might grow up to be a tyrant."
Damon was taken aback. But he answered quickly.
"I try to keep things fair and prosperous, even if you think I do not work enough."
"You do, in spite of all the suffering I see. This is your parents' fault, after all, not yours. Your view of them are not unbiased. They are your parents and love you. The rest of the kingdom is not composed of their children. We are are not their children."
The eyes of the old woman suddenly glowed bright and yellow.
"So I think that for all my misfortunes done by your parents, you will compensate their meanness by becoming my pet. I'll be easy on you because of your good heart and innocence."
Damon had no time to react as the magic hit him and began to transform.
