On the road to his girlfriend's place, an errant thought started to nag at him, like a hair caught on something just enough to pull at it but never really pull it out. Ted found himself getting ever increasingly irritated by the entire situation surrounding the relationship that was recently reforged between him and his girlfriend. He was aggravated that just because Ted tried playing for the same team, instead of her team, Ted was massively accosted for it. It was a moment of pure curiosity that drove that proverbial vehicle down the road he ended up taking. The more he thought about it, the more aggravated he became and simply desired to be able to be whatever he wanted and whoever he wanted and anyone else that had a problem could go fuck right off because he was absolutely done with it. Ted, later on in life, found out that not only was his Uncle Lukas gay but so was his dad, which was why Ted's mother wasn't ever around... which was what started him down that road of curiosity. For all of his life, up until that point, Ted had been completely straight and had only eyes on girls, which is why he had his girlfriend in the first place. However, the more Ted thought about it, the more he thought about his father and uncle being gay... the more Ted was curious about what it would be like to be with a guy instead, which is exactly what led him down the path he currently found himself on. As he drove on as if on autopilot, Ted was not paying attention to the crimson-colored gem on the ring as it glowed an eerie, ominous, and sinister crimson glow that seemed to bathe Ted in the odd light. It wasn't overpowering or blinding, rather it was soft and enveloping, not drawing attention to itself to really allow the person inside of it to focus on the thing that they desired most in life. It focused on how unhappy Ted was in his current life, the thoughts about his father and uncle being gay, being free, and honed in on Ted's very private interest in werewolves and transformation.
Ted came up to an intersection with the light that turned red just as he pulled up to it. Being known to be a notoriously long light, Ted growled under his breath, finding himself to be even more annoyed by the hindrance, just wanting to get to where he was going. Being partially sentient, it knew exactly how to give Ted what he desired and the world unnoticeably warbled around Ted as he sat at the red light as the ring shifted the world around him to be one to give him exactly what he desired. Being that it was close to Halloween already, enjoying the cooler days and the nights coming on earlier and earlier each day, Ted noticed several people had already set up their Halloween decorations. He smiled at the thought of people enjoying "Spooky Season" just as much as he did... maybe more... though Ted thought that that wasn't possible. Ted absolutely loved Halloween, both the commercialized version for kids, but he enjoyed the more monstrous and sinister version of Halloween that Halloween... or "All Hallow's Eve" or "Samhain" was originally known for. As he sat there at the red light, which was taking an unusually long amount of time, Ted's mind wandered and wondered what life would be like if real monsters existed... specifically werewolves. Thinking and pondering this, the ring drew upon that desire to know and made it a reality... though who would be monstrous werewolves had yet to be decided.
Finally, with the true desire in Ted's thoughts being revealed and the ring using it to fuel the shift in reality, things were already starting to develop on their own. Sinister, monstrous, evil, and dark werewolves would be a reality in the world soon, but how it happened and with whom it would start... was still up to fate to decide. Who would fate decide would be the prime werewolf?
