Tabitha saw that she was outside, in a sunny place. The trees were green and full of leaves. She could hear noises around her. Plenty of noise. Cars. People talking. But above all children screaming and screeching. The sort kids do at play. She looked around her and saw that there was indeed lots of children playing. She was in a park and children were playing around. She was right under a tree, on the hedge of a sand pit. A bit further away there was a shallow pool where kids could dip their feet or walk on all fours in the water. The weather was certainly warm enough for that. Tabitha looked at herself. She was wearing tiny jeans embroidered with flowers and a light sweater with pink and purple colors. She looked very young. tHad she become a child again? It certainly seemed so. She had next to her a toy. It was a pegasus plushie. Feeling deeply attracted to the toy, she grabbed it, struck by an idea. Curious, she approached the pool and stared at her reflection. She almost shouted out. She had totally changed! She was still a girl, but she looked five, if that. She had blue eyes and straight hair, cut in bangs and reaching her ears, or a little below. It was blonde. Aalasee had altered her body completely! But she had wished for a life that was eternal and carefree! How was that supposed to work out?
"Jill! Be careful! You'll get wet! And your Papa hates it if you mess up your clothes!"
Tabitha felt picked up in massive strong arms into the air. It was a muscled man, with dishevelled brown hair, that had her in his arms. He was a stranger and he frightened her but she also felt comfortable in his arms. And really, really comforted. She knew instinctively that this man was Dada, and that he lived with Papa, another man. Hazy memories reached her brain too. That these two men weren't really human but immortal fay creatures living as mortals in the human world and that they had adopted her, a human girl. Unbeknownst to her, the two fay beings had kidnapped her. They would turn her into their real daughter later, making her a fairy creature as well, immortal too. Tabitha knew she lived somewhere but couldn't remember it. New memories would come in as she saw things that were familiar to her, like her new home. In the meantime, she played with plastic toys shaped like mermaids in the water, splashing and wading in happily. She lost herself until Dada told her it was time to go home. Tabitha, now Jill, wondered what it would look like, even if she was a bit apprehensive at the idea of living with two strange creatures. She also wondered if Aalarsee would come to see how she was doing.
