All Josh could see was an endless white background. There was no objects, furniture, or even people. Before he could wonderwhat happened, a voice spoke up.
"Congratulations! Josh Homes, you have been selected to be upgraded to VIP during your stay here!"
Josh was almost speechless. He had no idea what the voice was talking about. He didn't hear of any VIP reservations at the resort. "What are you talking about? Where am I?"
"This is just inside your mind," The voice began to explain. "As for what I am talking about, you have been selected to receive some special perks exclusive to you."
"What perks?" Josh asked, unsure of what was happening.
"Your first perk is being able to apply transformations to anyone at this resort," The voice began. "Secondly, you can choose how aware people are of these changes."
The idea of changing others kind of turned Josh on. This was something he had been wanting to do for so long.
The voice continued. "Third, you can do mental and reality changes on guests, a feature that normal guests do not get that much control of."
Josh interrupted. "What do you mean?"
The voice explained. "You can change the thoughts and lives of people. Let's say you want a guest here to be your friend. With this you can make them a friend of yours suddenly, or that you were friends for years."
The gears started to turn in Josh's head. He loved Anna, but he had always found her friends hot. Maybe with this, he could become closer to them.
"And finally, once you leave, you decide which changes you made stay and which go back." The voice finished off.
Josh was super curious now. "So how do I do any of these things?"
"It's simple," The voice explained. "You think about making a change and you will be brought here." Suddenly several floating panels appeared, each displaying details about a person. "You can use these panels to apply the change and when you are done, hit this red panel." As the voice spoke, a small red panel with the word "exit" appeared. "And don't worry. When you are in here, time stops in the world. So you don't have to rush. If you have any more questions, you can ask them here. Enjoy your stay, Josh Home!"
And with that, Josh found himself back at the check in desk with Anna. Carolyn, the receptionist, just finished typing and handed them two keys. "Here you are," she began. "Your room number is 503. Please enjoy your stay."
