You go along with the fairy. There is not much you can do anyway. You're a baby now. And a girl, no less! And as a little baby that cannot even walk yet, just crawl and sit, you can't even travel and run around. How would you go and find someone to reverse that humiliating spell. You're a fairy baby draped in petals, and a girl to boot! You might look adorable for women and little girls but as a male, you seethe with humiliation. And this awful creature wants you to call her Mama? No way! She's not your mother! She ruined your life! In frustration, you fidget but she holds you firm and shushes you, calling you a baby and treating you like one. She even continues calling you Lilac, a name you just want to hate with a passion.
But then, everything changes. As she walks along a branch near the ground, already having entered the realm of fairies, something falls on you both all of a sudden. A purple net, light but that pins Rose to the branch, and thus you as well. She struggles with you in one arm, which is not easy. You keep fidgeting but keep quiet. You wonder what is happening. Who could have captured you? The answer comes fast. New fairy creatures appear on the ground, from the dark and from behind blades of grass, stones and mushroom. They are clearly less pleasant to look like than fairies. They possess more monstrous attributes. They jeer and laugh, happy with their catch.
"Perfect prize! A fairy girl and a babe!" hoots one that resembles a stick insect.
"They'll fetch a pretty penny at the Marsh Market!" adds a shorter dark fay.
They drag you to the ground and put the fairy in a bag, hoisted on the shoulder of a bigger dark fairy who grunts at the effort. Another, a dark green fairy, carries you under his arm like a package. They take you for a real baby fairy and while they run and fly to their destination they talk about all the gold you and Rose with earn them.
After several hours, you all reach a place under the roots of a tree that holds a lot of cages. Some fairies and creatures are inside. A fat fairy that looks like a toad arrives and looks at Rose and you. He claps irons on Rose sand rags you away. You understand she cannot put spells on other fairies. She screams for her baby Lilac, you, but the toad-like fairy argues after examining you that you are a transformed human male and that'll you be sold separately, as you are not a real fairy baby, let alone Rose's daughter. Rose will be sold to become a spouse or concubine to the customers of the slave market, from what you've gathered. As for you, you can be adopted, light fairies selling for a lot to become part of dark fairies' families. You are quickly placed in a basket with a few blankets and left on a table. The toad-like fay then haggles and pays the people who kidnappers. So you wait in your basket, unable to do anything but move your limbs. Your body is too weak and young to escape this stupidly simple contraption. And you're still dressed in these ridiculous flower petals! Worse, you seem to be about to remain a girl for good. And a baby at that! And who will buy and adopt you? Your field of vision is very reduced here! You can't see much. But you can already hear coos and comments about how adorable you are. Uh-oh... Who will arrive and take a liking to you? Who will adopt you? Where will you end up? And with what sort of fay creatures?
