Had Ty taken on the task of the creation of his ideal Aliens with his consciousness, the Result would have most definitively been different, but with a mind unable to settle on a singular idea, his subconscious dredged up a species of aliens he could barely remember imagining once long ago. An imagination that had been poked at by an old anime he once watched a few episodes of, one where some kind of virus gave you powers and eventually its revealed the virus is actually sentient and out to take over every mind in the universe, where the protagonist has to argue with it about the concept of 'Free Will'.
Now arguably a sentient virus from beyond the solar system wasn't exactly what most people imagine when told of the world being invaded by Aliens desperate to regain usage of their reproductive faculties. And as far as invasions go, this one began rather silently. As the Universe moved to obey Ty's subconscious Will, a small basically unnoticable comet entered existence on course with Earth, one much too small for Earths space-agencies to ever give a second glance without further technological progression.
But those same agencies did not expect the small comet to instead of breaking up into particulate upon entering the Earths atmosphere, it flew through utterly unaffected by the tremendous heat generated by friction as the multikilometre/s object was roughly slowed down to just barely over terminal velocity, heading straight for an unassuming american towns central park. By the point anyone of ability realized the comet wasn't breaking up, it was too late for anything to change.
For Tyler, he was patiently waiting, desiring to witness the start of his invasion from where it was guaranteed to start in the park of a town with some 2000 inhabitants, unknowing of what form it would take in the end. And then he and dozens of others noticed the blazing comet in the sky, at first thinking it to be a shooting star (and Droppod to Ty), there were shouts of alarm as the blazing object didn't fizz out and instead kept approaching, but noone in the park would manage to get away from the impacting comet.
An explosion and miniature earthquake erupting from the centralmost patch of wilderness in the park, heralded a wave of smoky mist rushing outward like a shockwave, engulfing a hundred inhabitants and eliciting coughs even as the 'smoke' faded away like it had never existed, leaving a pillar of smoke in the park the only trace of the comets visible impact. Ty for his part, felt surprised at the suddenness, but appreciated the speed this was going. He was going to go look at it but something rubbed him the wrong way about this and he felt like he should be home, but he was here to witness an alien invasion of his own making, what was wrong with that? Going home right now would mean he would be waiting for his creation to come to him when it would be more exciting being among the first to meet them. He frowned, he for some reason really wanted to go home.
"I wish i can mentally only be nudged into doing things, and that they are clear to me." He whispered to himself and suddenly it was like he was hearing a voice in the back of his mind whispering 'Go home' instead of inexplicably wanting to go home.
Though he found it a little weird he hadn't met any aliens and already he was being mentally compelled to do something, though in this case it for some reason wanted him to go home? He was curious why and how they were doing it, though the how might have been that odd mist the comet released upon impact?
"Hm, I wish i knew what it is." And like that he knew that his Aliens, carried here by the comet in the park, was a sentient Virus trying to reestablish itself on its last legs following a disastrous attempt at infecting the entire galaxy. And outside of being made of some artificial rock that contained the barest smidge of itself already used to infect a scant hundred humans, what remained of the comet was worthless to it.
With a new understanding of the situation Ty looked around at the many people that were leaving the park compared to the others that were arriving to observe whatever had happened, and if the Virus wanted them to go home it could be that it wanted to hide while it spread or quickly shaped them into perfect hosts. And if it wanted that then Ty saw no reason not to go home, but he didn't want to walk all the way so he simply wished himself home without anyone noticing his teleportation, where suddenly the Virus's message turned to 'go rest'.
Seeing no reason not to obey, Ty quickly wished he wouldn't be disturbed, then wished himself into sleep atop his bed after stripping naked. Leaving his body at the mercies of an alien entity.
And said Alien Entity was currently a bit indecisive as to its desired methodology for converting all of humanity into ideal carrier-forms to restart its goal to spread across the entire galaxy. It had decided to try itself at stealthily infecting all of humanity prior to landing, but then it found one of its Infectee's to suddenly become aware of it and make it unable to mentally rewire them, before suddenly following its directives and falling asleep at its home after somehow teleporting without any other human finding it strange. To say It was confused was a mild understatement, as for all It could read of the humans mind they somehow made it to achieve Its goal of corrupting their entire race?
That a human could so suddenly become aware of Its existence It had been prepared to discard stealth and convert it's infectee's into the most infectious carrier-forms it could and attempt to infect all of humanity as fast as possible, a methodology it was well-experienced at, but was what led to it being almost exterminated in the first place. Another possibility It pondered over while in transit to this world was a Compromise between the two methodologies, using stealth to spread itself as far and wide as it could, before triggering the Infected to subjugate the rest of the world as fast as possible, this time with Infecteds in every major population center and every remote location.
And while it internally pondered how to do this, it quickly made sure Ty was in a coma so he couldn't use his 'powers' before It was ready.
