"So you said you had plans for today? What all's on your itinerary?" Jane asked. Carl looked up from his food towards his wife who had an inquisitive look on her face.
Carl smiled brightly and opened his mouth to reply. But before he could say anything, he felt the dizziness return. Thankfully, he quickly began to feel it disappear as he reached for his cup of...apple juice?
He looked over at the plastic cup by his plate and it was indeed filled with apple juice. But of course it was. Daughty bought it because it was his favorite.
Looking down, he was still wearing his pink dress with unicorns and his hair, tied in pigtails with pink ribbons, brushed his neck. On his feet were a pair of Marty-Johns with white knee socks.
"Hey I asked a question. Why can't I come with you and Daughty to the store?" He heard Jane whine. He frowned as he looked up at his wife.
She had her short hair messy and spiked up and was wearing dinosaur footie pj's that he could see her pull-up through. Carl just grinned smugly and touted, "Because I need a pretty dress because Monday's my first day of Kindergarten."
Jane pouted and muttered, "Why can't I go to Kindergarten?" "Because you're too stupid and dumb and they don't want your cooties and-" Carl began listing.
"That's quite enough old man!" Yelled Molly, Jane and Carl's adoptive 34-year young (6-year old) daughter, as she came down the stairs wearing her usual button down flannel and jeans combo. Her black hair was short and thinning at the top but grown out into a goatee around her face.
Beside her, hands wrapped around her arm, was their Son and Molly's brother, Matthew. He was wearing a yellow floral dress with heels. He also had impeccable makeup adorned on his face with silver studs in his ears. Lastly, his fiery red hair cascaded down his back.
Matthew walked over to Jane who was crying and began to console her by saying, "It's ok sweetheart, sonny's here. Your husband was just being mean of course you're going to go to Kindergarten. You just aren't young enough yet."
Molly grabbed Carl's arm and whispered, "We'll talk about this in the car." She then turned to her brother who was cradling his mothers head in his lap. "We'll be back in a few hours babe. Love ya." Matthew looked up to his sister and smiled replying, "I love you too sweetie" He looked over to Jane and whispered, "Say bye-bye to daughty."
Jane, still crying, complied and said, "bye-bye daughty." as she waved her hand goodbye.
Molly smiled as she pulled her father out the door.
