Unbeknownst to pretty much everyone but themselves, TransDem Labs was actually not just the one address that one could, in theory, locate them by. That location would be but a dummy location, a place that would act as the proxy to a much larger operation. TransDem Labs knew that such a powerful, reality-altering device would be used in ways that would alter the world or very universe in which it came from, yet for them it was not a high concern. In truth, the real TransDem Labs, the ones who made all the iterations of the Chronivac, existed outside of any one point in space, time or reality. Within this outer limit, the company could freely distribute as many Chronivacs to as many different worlds as they pleased, and with their out-of-reality location, they could be protected from any of their users using their product to alter the worlds in any typically irreversible means. For what reason? Outside of self-preservation, it served one true goal.
Collecting Data.
From the numerous universes and realities that TransDem had sent out Chronivacs, they could observe each and every possible choice and transformation used by any of their users, gathering that info to better optimize their future iterations of the product. For the most part, it hardly mattered how their products would change their users, or their peers, or even the whole world. As long as it worked, they were happy to receive the information.
For the most part.
Making a product is always a work in progress. Any model of a product is going to have design flaws that can be fine-tuned and fixed in the next version. Even the best products have their limits, and some users would use the Chronivac past even those vast boundaries to bring their worlds and universes to irreparable and chaotic states or, at the worst, destroy their precious devices in the process. And that was where TransDem would have to step in. Within their company, a task force was also assembled, filled with those strong, skilled, smart and brave enough to enter these multiple realities and attempt to recover the Chronivacs that had been abused or destroyed by their intended users. Sometimes, this would involve attempting to revert all the damage that had been done since the Chronivac arrived at the users' doorstep, sometimes it involved destroying the user in order to retrieve the device. And sometimes it was just a matter of grabbing the Chronivac and leaving that reality to its fate, whatever it may be.
The task force was assembling at the dimensional gates, one of not just humans but anthros, aliens, plants, mythicals and all those in and around it. A few groups would splinter off to different gates, anywhere from solo agents to groups of nearly a dozen. Their protective TDS suits would keep them protected from whatever hazardous elements or reality shifts would occur in the worlds they were infiltrating, but only if they could keep it all intact. The agents would wait as their gates opened.
It was time to get to work.
