Before any of them could even begin to formulate an escape, the doors to the van were thrown open. Bong Cha immediately threw her arms up, fearing the sunlight would reduce her to ash. Instead the three rockers paused, their eyes adjusting to the florescent lights as they noticed a Korean woman standing before them. "Ah good," she said. "You made it one piece. Please, follow me."
Bong-cha, Setepenre, and Luca studied the woman carefully. She was a middle aged woman, perhaps in her mid to late thirties. The womans face beautiful with ample curves on her slender form. "Who are you," Set asked. "Oh where are my manners," she replied. "My name is Choon Hee. I'll be your liason."
The trio now turned to one another. A liason? What was this? Sniffing the air, Luca could already tell the woman was supernatural in nature. "What are you?"
"A kumiho."
"Bless you."
"No I'm a kumiho," Choon Hee chuckled. The trio now watched as the womans features began to shift, fur covering her body, her face stretching into a muzzle as her ears drifted to the top of her head. Finally the trio watched as nine tails now fanned out behind the anthro fox woman. Bong and Luca surprised to see this, this woman looked like a kitsune. Kitsune were incredibly rare that they never thought they would actually see one. It was Set though that grew pale, the mummies eyes going wide in shock. "That's...that's impossible," she gasped.
"What's impossible," Bong asked. Set now shuddered, a sour look crossing her face as she gazed at her friends. "Ugh didn't you ever study history," she groaned. Bong and Luca shrugged, Set sighing before continuing. "Kumiho are a Korean off shoot of the kitsune," she said. "Back in the late 1500s, during the Japanese/Korean War they fought the kitsune. According to every history book I ever read the kitsune lord and his son Fukushu wiped them out after the kumiho killed a powerful kitsune soldier. They're supposed to be extinct."
"Impressive," Choon Hee replied. "Few take the time to learn that part of history and you are correct. I am the last kumiho."
"Does that mean the legend is true?"
"What legend," Luca exclaimed. "Set why do you look so freaked out?"
"Because kumiho eat the hearts of their enemies," Choon Hee replied, the trios eyes going wide as they instinctively covered their chests. "Dont worry kids I've already eaten. Besides, I prefer human hearts, not vampire and werewolf. Still, we have much to do. Remy!"
The band watched as a goblin now waddled in front of the door. The short and chubby creature sporting a tailored suit that the group found odd. So caught up in the fact that a legendary creature and a goblin were working together, they were unable to react in time as Remy pointed a device at them.
"Ow what the hell," Bong yelled, rubbing her neck. "What was that?"
"Nano control chip," Choon Hee replied. "It prevents you from harming anyone associated with the Normal. It will also allow us to control you, you fail to follow directions and bad things happen."
"What kind of bad things," Luca asked.
"Little chip make big boomer," Remy stated. "Head go bye bye become big pink cloud." The trio shuddered, realizing this goblin had essentially injected a nano explosive into their necks. Whether they liked it or not they were stick for now. "In the past the Boss would strip our new recruits of their free will," Choon Hee smiled. "Thats what happened to me and I've never felt better. But, the process is arduous and time consuming. For the time being we've resorted to...cruder methods." Bong, Set, and Luca weren't quite sure how to feel about this bit of information. Yes they had a bomb in their neck but at least they still had their free will. Choon Hee now beckoned them to follow, her tails swishing behind her as she went. Realizing their options were limited, they now trudged behind them.
As they now rode in an elevator, the group wasn't sure what to think. They were prisoners yet they seemed to be prisoners with privileges. The limited information they had said the Normal were zealots that slaughtered the supernatural, so how were they employing vampires, goblins, and kumiho? It was dichotomy they just couldn't wrap their heads around. As the elevator doors opened, Choon Hee turned to smile at them. "Welcome to your new home."
Bong, Set, and Luca's jaws dropped as they beheld what would be home. The penthouse apartment was massive. An open living room was furnished with a gorgeous leather couch facing a flat screen TV that was bigger than the can they lived in, complete with the latest video game consoles. Slowly the group emptied out of the elevator, noticing a full kitchen and stocked shelves. "Go on check-out the bedrooms," Choon Hee called.
Bong, Set, and Luca now raced to the bedroom, giggling like children as they examined the rest of the apartment. Two full bathrooms, three bedrooms with king sized beds, even a hot tub. In their wildest dreams the three would have never dreamed of such luxury. Still, they realized there had to be a catch. "I take it you three like it," Choon Hee asked.
"Like it? We love it," Bong exclaimed. "So, what's the catch?"
Choon Hee now produced three folders, laying them across the marble countertop. Gazing at the photos layer before them Bong, Set, and Luca noted an Asian man and blonde woman in their mid twenties and a college aged brunette. "Shiro Tozawa, Jen Bishop, and Jackie Kirkman," she said. "These three wizards currently reside in New York and have proven to be a nuisance in the past."
"So what do you want us to do," Set asked.
"This weekend your band gets to perform in New York," Choon Hee smirked. "And when you're done, take these three out of the picture. Permanently."
