Mary of course had a bit of a reaction to the sudden rather crazy action that Katie had done. It was dangerous even though Katie was certain it would work just find.
"I'm going to change Katie back - " Mary looked down at the ring then at the bedroom Kellie had taken Katie.
"What?"
"Katie apparently decided to make it impossible to change her back before the half hour is up."
"So now what?" Padma was uncertain about what just happened.
"If Katie is right, she'll change back in half an hour with no problem."
"But if not - ?" Samantha and Claudia shared a moment of 'jinx'.
"We'll have to try to figure out how to get her back to normal."
The girls sat silently for a moment in thought. Then Mika spoke up. "We need to make at least one of us younger for a short time and then change back. If its only for a few minutes, our memories shouldn't be gone even if we mess it up."
The girls started to talk all at the same time. "This is crazy. So who will volunteer. I'll do it. We should make ourselves older right now."
"I'll do it." Padma spoke up loud enough this time for all of them to hear her."
"Padma, you don't have to - " Tricia said to her.
"I know but someone has to do this to see if we need to help Katie." The smaller Indian girl gave Tricia a shy look. "If it goes wrong, please take care of me."
"I'll also take that chance." Mika spoke up.
"Alright!" Mary pouted. "If I made you three for thirty seconds, will you calm down." They all nodded. "Good."
She silently made her wish and the girls shrank down to toddlerhood. The began to run around mindlessly yammering in singsong ranging from cute to tonedeaf. Karen wandered into the room wondering what all the noise was all about when she saw her friends shrunken down and off the wall, she didn't know what to do but then she found a ring. She picked it up and looked at a bit, was this the cause of this sudden change?
Just as quickly as it happened, the other girls started to grow before her eyes. "Tricia? What's happening?"
"Just playing with the sands of time." She snarked back as she returned to the age of six before Karen.
