As the water washed away the blood and dirt. Hailey wished she could wash away the feelings that consumed her. Ever since she had become a vampire she was scared that it would change her, turn her into something that was evil and frightening. When she Met Marisa MacGregor she was given hope, she was told that she had not lost her humanity, that she wouldn’t have to harm anyone. But now she felt shame, what would Marisa think of her now? How could she face the other as at S.P.E.A.R.?
Once she was clean she got dressed in the clothes that were laid out for her; she wore a red bikini under a pair of denim short shorts and a black bomber jacket.
The blonde smiled to herself when she saw the pink Hawaiian shirt, normally she wouldn’t be caught dead wearing a hideous shirt like he does but now she felt a small smile form on her lips, of course he would give her something like that to wear. She tossed it to the side but felt warm knowing he was trying to cheer her up, he was a good partner and she knew he didn’t blame her for what happened.
Once she finished putting on the white high top sneakers she exited the bathroom and found Henry sitting backwards on a chair with his hand cannon pointed at the door, ready for anything that came knocking.
“Hey, what happened to your shirt?” He said and she smiled.
“Whatever corpse you got that from must have died of embarrassment.” She said quietly trying to ease the tension as he did.
The man smiled with a slight chuckle. He got up and motioned for the door.
“Look, you don’t have to come. I can find out what’s going on here and put a stop to it, just hang tight here and board up the door once I leave.” He suggested.
“No, I’m fine. Let’s just find out who’s behind all this.” She deflected.
“Don’t worry Hailey, it’s a full moon tonight, my werewolf abilities will be increased.” He explained.
“And it’s Halloween, so the dark wizard’s magic will be more powerful as well. We’re partners, I’m not going to let you get yourself killed while I sit here in the honeymoon suite.” She said.
“I didn’t know it was the honeymoon suite.” He she said and Hailey could have sworn she saw him blush.
“The heart shaped bed and all the flowers and candles didn’t give it away?” She asked.
He looked around and saw what she meant,
“Look I didn’t know that’s what this place was, I just took us to the most defendable place at the end of the pier.” He said defensively.
“Here at least take this.” He said and handed home one of his heavy revolvers.
“No, you keep them. I’m fine. I don’t need it.” I said quietly, the human blood she consumed had made her stronger.
Hailey was far from fine, she tried her hardest to push the trauma down but knew eventually it would come pouring out, but for now they had a mission and she had to find a way to see it through.
“They look better on me anyway.” He said in a faux jovial manner.
He opened the door for the blonde and they both headed out into the island once more.
