Rob and Mary were not having a good day. . A week away from graduating high school, the close friends had looking to celebrate. They'd driving on the outskirts of town and they spotted a huge night club that definitely hadn't been there the day before (the colors, noise, and spotlights would have made it easy to see a mile away). The motif had been wolves anthros of every shape and size.
Rob had been born a wolven beastman, and Mary came from a family of wolf skin-changing. It was nice to see a place where they wouldn't stand out and could enjoy their heritage. Really though, the name should have really tipped them off, 'The Full Moon Club'. But the teenagers had thought it was being ironic. And it wasn't like anyone had a TRADEMARK on the moon or something.
Once they got inside through (thanks fake IDs!), they'd realized the truth of what was going on.
"Rob... these aren't skin-changers, these are werewolves!"
Rob shivered. People had a bad habit of mixing beastmen, skin-changers, and were-beasts into the same pot. But they were very different. Rob was a human shaped wolf, nothing else to it, like his mother had been (his father had been a human shaped ram). Mary could shape shift into a human-wolf hybrid, or a really big four legged wolf, and back again, at will, much her family could (though her little brother changed into a cheetah, her father had his DNA tested and yes, he was his).
Werebeasts were people infected with a disease, one that twisted their bodies a few nights each months, it technically didn't affect the victim's mind at all in human form... but there were people who liked the excuse to indulge in violence and carnage and be able to blame it on something they couldn't control.
Rob and Mary had been mistake for werebeasts by classmates more time than they could count, so many people wanting to have shape shifting superpowers, not understand Rob and Mary couldn't give them away and that it didn't work that way at all. Which lead to their classmates thinking the pair were greedily keeping their superpowers for themselves.
The pair realized the truth when homeless people were brought in, promised warm food and sleeping quarters for the night onto the main stage. Instead, the exits were all locked, the massive skylight opened, and everyone present stripped naked and morphed into hulk lupine beasts, there was no humanity in any of their eyes, only hunger and the will of the Pack. The homeless on stage knew what was about to happen but were cornered as the monsters slowly closed in on them.
