Another day another group of jeering crowds. Jenna hated it when the guests would bang on the glass of her enclosure, she hated the awful things they said and the laughter. But most of all she was jealous.
Jenna used to be like them; she was an average high school girl, she had a boyfriend and was the head cheerleader. Until she came to this circus and dared offend Madam Illusia. That’s how she became a freak. Where she once has beautiful bouncing blond locks she now had flat black hair that seemed to always be messy and unruly no matter how much she combed and washed, her once tone and tan body was now ghostly white and skinny, her eyes had dark circles and her lips were cracked. Her once large breasts were reduced to small a cups and her height was diminished as well. The Madam had also forced her into black gothic dresses and black eye makeup, a stark contrast to her stylish and flashy clothes she wore before coming to this place.
She adjusted the long black fingerless gloves she wore to hide the scars that Madam Illusia had compelled her to carve into her body. Her cute and bubbly voice was replaced with a raspy depressing one.
Jenna had been turned into the kind of girl she always hated and bullied when she was a popular girl.
She supposed that Madam Illusia thought this some kind of punishment for how her vein and vapid life before coming to the circus. One time her old friends from her school visited and she tried and begged them to help her but they refused and laughed at her, her former boyfriend even threw food at her. After that she didn’t see anyone from her old life.
Jenna wasn’t the only one in the Freakshow; there were many people who had been changed by Illusia: there was Molly, a former super model that was now a massive 400 pound slob. Richard, who used to be a man hating feminist. Gabriella, a white Karen who had become a Hispanic immigrant. And many others. Sometimes the Madam would bring one of the freaks out to the main show, to subject them to even more humiliations.
They all hated the witch, but her son was a good. Stephan was always kind to her and the others that had been discarded by the Madam’s main show. He brought them food and even offered a kind conversation now and again. Jenna even found him quite attractive and might have considered going out with him before she’d been transformed into what she was now.
This night there weren’t as many patrons visiting the Freakshow, no doubt most of the crowds were on the main tent being entranced by Madam Illusia. Jenna was thankful for this, the implanted need to cut herself was becoming unbearable and she didn’t want to hurt herself for the assholes that visited this place.
