Alex felt himself getting bigger, his arms were straining at the seams of his t-shirt and he noticed that his belly seemed a bit bigger too as it was sticking out so he couldn't see his feet any more-then suddenly he could, as his feet burt out of his socks and sneakers until the reached the size and width of the end of a canoe paddle.
Looking over at the bedroom mirror, he watched in amazement as his hair thinned out leaving him almost completely bald with a fringe of thick, curly blue hair running from his temples past his ears and round the back of his head, and stretching halfway across his shoulders/. At the same time his face became rounder and his complexion faded to a milky white.
Alex's eyes became outlined inin black with tiny little triangles right underneath. His eyebrows disappeared, replaced by upside down U-shapes that made him look surprised. His lower lip became red and stretched almost halfway down his chin, with red circles on either side into a wide, fixed grin; three red freckle-like dots formed on both of his plump cheeks.
The final change happened to Alex's face as the end of his nose turned red and swelled into a shiny orb, as big and round as a Christmas tree ornament.
As the changes slowed Alex felt a tingling all over his body and looking down, noticed that his trainers were stretching and reforming into clown shoes with yellow saddles andred wing tips, perfectly sized to fit his new feet. The tingling moved up his legs and before he knew what was happening, his jeans had turned into pinstriped ed trousers and his t-shirt was transforming into a crisp yellow shirt, red long tailed suit jacket, and puffy blue bow tie around his neck and yellow gloves Finally, a tiny red derby with a yellow band and blue feather appeared on top of his smooth bald head.
Glancing into the mirror, Alex was shocked to see the figure of a goofy but snazzy looking clown staring back at him. And suddenly, a full knowledge of clown routines, various skills, and jokes both practical and impractical filled his head.
He turned to him Mom and tried to say "What the f**k have you done Mom?" But words wouldn't come and he found himself saying, in jolly goofy voice, "Heeheeyaha, very funny Mom," and squeezed his big red nose. Honk!
His Mom smiled and said "You and Miranda rehearse for your act tomorrow. I'm expecting your father home soon and I've got a surprise in store for him!"
Alex, turned towards the door and in shock saw that Miranda had become a clown like him. She had porcelain white skin, big red afro, a dainty red clown smile and big curly eyelashes over her eyes. His friend was dressed in a red apron dress covering a yellow blouse and bloomers, with red and white striped socks and red bubble toed Mary-Janes. Her shoes were adorned with yellow bow buckles, and a matching bow sat atop her new hairstyle. They stared at each other in amazement for a moment but unable to resist the commands of Alex's Mom, both began to practice, each trying to think of a way out of the predicament.
Meanwhile, Alex's mom heard her husband's car pull into the driveway. He had texted her about how his boss wanted him to find some clowns to perform for his granddaughter's birthday party tomorrow but didn't know how to find any on such short notice.
