That is how your new life starts. Adopted by a chubby yet not ugly fairy named Maia and with as a sister that horrid fairy Anita. That last part is the most foul to face. She's the one by whom all of your miseries started! What's worse, you are stuck as a teen girl, not to mention the stupid wings and diminutive size. Though since all fairies are small, it takes the impression away. Somewhat. However, it's a small consolation. In fact, you hate your new life with a passion and each day is a chore in of itself. The only good thing is the food. Maia is a super cook, you cannot deny her that. Her soups are delicious, you who always hated eating your vegetables. Her other dishes with greens or other vegetables are not half-bad either. There are always cookies, warm milk or coco, tarts or other cakes and pies, every day. But that's the only positive. Outside of eating hours, life is now a real nightmare for you!
First, you have to share your room with Anita, which results in endless fights and squabbling. Though you have to admit that Maia's patience is nothing short of admirable and you do wonder when she will snap, if ever. Furthermore, she thought you name was "too manly" and "not fitting for a fairy". So she renamed you Daisy. Ugh! Can you do more sappy? You never answer to THAT name you hate so it ends up in even more fights. Anita, of course, loves to call you by it and then complain loudly to Maia about it.
Second, there's this body that you hate, about to enter full puberty, what's more! Something as natural as peeing reminds you that your privates are gone! Replaced by... well, labia, a clitoris and a slit, which you hate to look at, even less touch!... Ugh! It's so awkward and revolting, to possess the genitalia of a young girl. You can't touch your privacy, you'd just make yourself sound like a sicko, the sort of pervert that should be thrown in jail forever. So washing or changing clothes is a real ordeal. And Maia insists on cleanliness. That fairy is obsessed by it and you sometimes have to take three or four baths a day!
Then there's all the rest. You hate sewing and cooking is hardly better. Anita is used to all this nonsense, more than you, at any rate, so she does less mistakes and sets herself to work more easily. While sticking her tongue out at you, resulting in more insults and fights. Insults that are magically curbed to sill words and harmless jeers overall. Maia's big specialty is sewing so doing tapestry and needlework is rather the main occupation of the day. It's purely a waste of time and a true bore for you and you wonder how long Maia will keep this pretense of treating you like her daughter. Surely she must take the hint that you hate it here by now, right?
