Greg looked groggy and his hair was still sticking up wildly when he opened the door — but he was, just like Jacob, definitely seven again. And his GoodNite had been equally soaked, with signs of a leak around the sides staining his pyjamas.
“They worked!” Jacob cheered, pulling Greg in for a hug. “Now we can be kids again!”
“Yeah, we’ll be kids practically forever,” Greg sighed, “since we have to wait until we have a dry night.”
“For now, we should probably change,” Jacob looked between their pyjamas, both wet from the amount they went overnight. “Oh heck, do we even have clothes that’ll fit, or —?”
Greg’s eyes widened too, and he pulled Jacob to his own bedroom to look through his drawers.
Luckily, it seemed the magic had thought of what to do in this situation. In Greg’s drawers and closet, everything had been replaced. Clothes appropriate for seven year old boys had been put on hangers and in drawers — along with a few packets of GoodNites in the bottom of the closet, and a few opened ones in his underwear drawer alongside some cartoon-patterned briefs.
“Well, that’s a relief,” Greg said, “maybe the clothes in your bag changed too?”
