They ran for their lives carrying the limp Thomas through the building and made it to the car garage easily, since the guards had already fled the building. They placed Thomas in the backseat, Marcia sitting next to him, and they drove off.
Thomas started to grunt, the sound was half-human, half-animal whatever had taken a hold of him earlier was still there.
"Hold on Thomas. Remember who you are. Remember your sister. You're human Thomas, human. You're not an animal. You're not a killer. Don't let the beast take you. I can help you Thomas. Just fight it, fight what that statue did to you." Marcia spoke to him and he began to breath easier again sounding completely human. "John, we need to stop."
"I'm not stopping until that green glow in the rear-view is gone."
"We need to get him some water."
"Water, why?"
"Because if we need to keep him as healthy as possible until he's got whatever this is under control. If his instincts for self-preservation kick in, that beast dwelling inside of him will take over and become stronger. We can't let that happen."
"I'll stop as soon as I can until then I think there are a couple bottles of water in the cooler behind the back seat."
Marcia grabbed one of the bottles and made Thomas drink it. He had shown remarkable strength of mind so far and she hoped he would continue to show it, when he would need it again.
Dr. Mikhail lay helplessly on the floor as Marcia and John carried Thomas out of the room. He had been seriously injured when he hit the stone and had less than a minute before he would die from internal bleeding throughout his chest and pelvis.
He was about to faint when the green light surrounded his body. All his injuries disappeared and he was hit by a strange sensation. His hair turned pitch-black and grew thicker as his muscles grew slightly.
He fell back to the ground asleep the flames having been mysteriously blown out by an odd wind.
A mysterious man without any shoes andwearing odd clothing was running towards the city. He was young, about 22 by how he looked, though his hair was a distinct silvery color and his eyes offset, the right one was gold, the left was blue. He was tall about 6'9" maybe taller and had a muscular frame but not overly bulky. around his neck was a necklace with a black string and a very intricately designed wolf's head at the end and 2 silver bands around his wrists. What was most interesting though was that on his back was a giant sword at least 51/2' in length carried in a leather sheath.
"Damn," He thought to himself as he began to come closer to the city. "I can already feel him trying to influence me. I'll have to be careful."
