It’s the summer holidays and it just so happens that your parents have to head out of the country on business for it. Somewhere you couldn’t accompany them so they’ve arranged for you to stay with your uncle Jack, your mother’s brother, that you’ve hardly met but are aware from mutual acquaintances between your parents and him that he’s a little out there in character as he apparently runs some costume shop, owns it and everything to the point of living there.
Now Halloween has not been your primary Holiday but hay, maybe it’ll turn out alright.
As you parents had to leave for their airplane right away they had arranged a taxi to get you to Uncle Jack’s shop and as it happens it was called the ‘Second Skin’ and what’s more Uncle Jack was their waiting outside. “Hi their Uncle Jack” you called as you got out with your bag while preparing to get your suitcase from the back. “Maria! My you’ve grown my dear girl! So good to see you again” Uncle Jack happily returned as he rushed up and gave you a big hug. Thankfully the Taxi driver was willing to wait until you managed to end the hug and collect the suitcase before leaving.
After going inside Uncle Jack shows you around the place. The upstairs which was basically his living quarters was actually better then you’d expect, two bedrooms, well stocked kitchen attached to a well furnished living room. Meanwhile the store part was flooded with choices for costume seekers, those of popular characters, Mythological creatures, medieval outfits and what’s more many isles had mini-booths carrying accessories to go with but not exactly required for their focused costumes.
That said since you got here a certain something had been bugging you so you had to eventually ask “Uncle Jack? Can I ask over something?”. “Go on Maria. Ask away” Jack agreed. “What’s with that robe?” you inquired over the bright blue and green wizard’s robe Uncle Jack was wearing over his casual clothes. “Oh these. Well I am a wizard my girl and sometimes we wizards or witches need special garments to better channel or focus our magic” Uncle Jack answered happily.
“Magic? Really?” You questioned “Then what’s your speciality?”. “Oh you’re seeing it Maria. These costumes are my Speciality but I don’t mean I simply make them by casting spells” Uncle Jack continued kindly “Actually maybe a demonstration is best for understanding.
