Before Jeff is able to decide, he hears the bell of the front door go off, ‘now, who could that be,’ he asks himself, “JAY! ANSWER THE DOOR WILL YOU,” he then calls out to his 12-year-old brother.
“BUSY,” he hears the high-pitched voice of his brother call back.
Jeff grumbles, ‘yeah, right. Lazy git,’ he thinks to himself, but not feeling in the mood for arguing, Jeff sighs as he gets to his feet and leaves his room. The teen, assuming he’ll be back in a minute, leaves the program open on the “clothing” option, which looks just like some site from a clothing store.
When Jeff opens the door, he is surprised to see his friend Dean, who he hasn’t seen since summer camp a year ago, “Dean! What are you doing here,” he asks in surprise.
Dean grins, “I was in the neighborhood and decided to surprise you,” he says, “may I come in?”
Jeff hesitates, ‘I’d rather get back to the Chronivac,’ he thinks to himself, ‘but I haven’t seen Dean for so long! It would be rude to send him away, besides… I might not see him until the next summer camp. I can test the program out another day.’ The teen then smiles at Dean, “sure, come in,” he says, stepping aside.
Meanwhile, Jay is sitting in his room, drawing on a picture for arts class, as one of his pens breaks, “shit,” he exclaims, before rummaging through his draw, but not finding a new pen, “double shit,” the boy mumbles. Jay gets up from his seat, “Jeff won’t mind if I borrow a pen of his,” he says to himself as he heads out of his room and into Jeff’s.
Jay walks straight towards Jeff’s desk and opens a drawer and rummages through it, “found it,” he says, grabbing the pen. The 12-year-old is about to turn and leave, but when he looks up he notices that Jeff left his Laptop on and the site of a clothing store is open, “looks like Jeff is planning to order new clothes… again,” he says to himself, shaking his head, “as if he hadn’t ordered enough LAST WEEK!”
The 12-year-old tilts his head as he looks at the screen, he notices that the site seems to have some pretty good shoes, even high quality ones, and even some expensive brands, ‘hm… I could do with some new shoes,’ he thinks to himself, ‘Jeff won’t mind if I order a pair, besides: he owes me a birthday present anyway,’ so Jay sits down at Jeff’s Laptop and starts to scroll through the various types of shoes, unaware that it is not in fact a shopping site.
