“Why do I have to be the one to knock on the door?” Geshp asked.
“Because you’re the reason I’m not at home right now with my family, my dad has to be at work right now just to sort out all this breakout mess.” Cole responded.
Geshp wasn’t really paying attention to their mission, he didn’t do anything to Hailey but everyone thought he did. He was trying to work out who could have cursed Hailey, it was almost like his— he push those thoughts away and rang the doorbell again.
A black girl answered the door, she wore her hair in a tight ponytail and wore a red tracksuit.
“Why did you bring a demon to my house?” She asked bluntly.
Cole stepped in front of Geshp,
“Easy there, we talked to Miranda and she told us to talk to you.” He said.
“Why?” She asked.
“Let’s discuss this upstairs, in your room maybe?” The demon hunter said.
“Fine, but this is my grandparent’s house, I’m sharing a room with my two brothers, we can talk there.” She said and led them trough the house.
When they got there they explained the situation with Jolie and the mysterious group that freed her, they told her they asked Miranda and she told them to ask her.
Jenna slumped when they finished talking.
“Ughh…I told that girl to to stay out of trouble, listen us guardians aren’t supposed to tell anyone out true identities, especially not demons…” she said and glanced at Geshp.
“…if this Jolie is as bad as you say I can tell you where she is.” She finished.
“Brilliant! Now where is little Jolie hiding?” The demon asked.
Jenna backed away from him and looked towards Cole.
“You have to promise me you won’t hurt Pluto!I’ll get Pokoyo to talk to her, we’ll handle this without you.” Jenna demanded.
“Don’t worry, we won’t do anything to her, I promise.” Cole said.
The black girl saw the kindness and honesty in his eyes and sighed in relief.
“Pokoyo?” Geshp asked and stifled a chuckle.
The other two ignored him and continued speaking.
“I don’t know if Jolie is still with them but Pluto was staying at Circe’s park, it’s in another timeline. If Pluto had a hand in breaking her out, she could still be there.” She explained.
“Thank you Jenna and don’t worry, we won’t tell anyone about your true identity, you have my word.” He said.
“Thank you Cole, but I’m more worried about that one.” She said and motioned towards Geshp.
“No need to worry about me, my lips are sealed, your secret will never leave my lips as long as I live.” The devil spoke almost seductively, taking the girl’s hand.
Jenna pulled away with an eye roll,
“Sure. If that’s all you needed…” she hinted.
“We’ll get out of your hair, happy thanksgiving Jenna, I’ll tell Connor you sent your best.” He waved goodbye.
Geshp bowed and the two left for their car.
